time donation - Christmas dinners??

I thought I heard on the radio the other day that some organization is still looking for workers for a Christmas dinner.
Has anyone ever done this? Is it only for Christmas day? What kinds of things do you do? Would there also be jobs for children to help with?
How would someone find this info? I've tried looking on the city of Brandon web page but there is nothing, nor is there anything on the 94.7 web page (which is strange because that's where I heard this..)
