Are we ready for Maple Leaf expansion?

Yesterday, Maple Leaf announced the layoffs of 650 staff at one of it's Winnipeg plants, saying it was shifting production to the second shift at Maple Leaf's Brandon plant.
According to the Wpg. media reports, the second Brandon shift will apparently be up and running by the beginning of September.
It sounds like Brandon is about to have a massive influx of Maple Leaf workers. Is Brandon ready for this?
Is there anywhere near enough affordable housing for double the Maple Leaf workforce?
Could we see a situation like last year, where Maple leaf scoops up all of the rental accomodations, leaving nothing for ACC and BU students?
