Police car purchase

The city manager or maybe the city made the wrong decision in this case just to save 2 percent 5 percent probably also other than that ya--the locals are taking you for a ride and you can tell them you will buy elsewhere. The city manager forgets that he needs those cars repaired warranty wise ASAP when they break and being Fords they will(lol). They will not be on the top of the service managers or anybodies list at the only Ford Dealer for quick service no matter what any comments made by The Ford dealer says. A delayed part or whatever it happens no matter what he thinks the city of Brandons purchasing power is there is always payback from some yahoo at the store level.(the dealer Principle is above that) Yes The City deals with the Ford dealer on many levels and on many types Of Ford vehicles which is why I can not understand why they go to Winnipeg to save 750 per car. 750 as reported per car is a lot of money but not enough to burn some service bridges but it does send a message to others in Brandon--- do not buy local if you can save 2 percent--cripes this dealer pays a ton of taxes in town employees a crap load of people built a new building and yet this city manager figures a 2 percent spread in prices is not worth it?? If I did not know better I would wonder if there was some kickbacks coming back to the city under the table not being reported. Short term resident or long term, manager or not----I really wonder how anyone in that senior position would even consider buying outside the dealer group in Brandon when the bids are that close?? Maybe its the law but If I find out later as this story continues that the city Manager/purchasers and or council was able to have some flexibility I would like to tell then to quit or your fired but nope--there is always two sides I just can not see that side with only a 2 percent spread.
