I am lucky the wind was going in a different direction so my home was not damaged. Not sure how insurance works in this case. " |

Can be a tricky thing. I know someone whose house was damaged by a fire next door and their insurance company told them they would have to sue the neighbour.
From looking at the pictures, the houses looked to be very close together. This seems to be a recent trend in a lot of places and have to wonder if it is not a fire hazard. " |

Would suggest that anyone that has damage in such a case that could be related to such a fire contact their insurance company.
Suggesting anything else from second had information should not discourage contacting insurance companies regarding coverage.
Minimum Houses distance from each other has not changed much in the last 100 years . These were built in the mid 70's . If you look at many new homes and homes that are 75 years old many are very close.
Time will tell on the cause but it is tragic for all those involved directly or indirectly.
