Is there any handyman that will build a wooden storage shed?

I'm sure you know as well as anyone how unreliable, unprofessional and the kind of crook the general contractor can be. I would certainly recommend building it yourself. Sheds are anything but hard work and can be quite fun to do.  
 
If you do decide to go with a contractor, make sure you have all the permits in place with Brandon and Area Planning. This is a step that will only save you money as no shed can be built without one. Don't let a contractor tell you otherwise (see above for crooks). This takes time and time is money. You can save yourself some by getting the permits first.

I think if you check at the lumber yards, they have some prebuilt and would probably move them on to your property also, at a cost.

Is there still those sheds near A&W/Shell on the hill? They are a little bigger than your typical shed but they look pretty good. Home depot also sells a number of pre-built wooden sheds.

Wow....I take it you had a problem with a general contractor. Sorry to say but not all are crooks. If the person is not handy with tools or even have the required tools it is much easier to purchase or have one made to their needs.  
 
As for permits when did this change. It was an odd number but I was able to build up to a 10x10 shed without a permit. Any bigger a city permit was required. I am sure it still is the same. And permits are not that much money....ask your contractor the price. I assume you got ripped off or something as I don't get permits for anything first. I let the contractor do it. Like you said time is money. I make more at work instead of taking off the time to sit at Brandon Area and Planning and applying for a permit for a building over my 10x10.

For a job like this you would probably get a "little guy" to do the work instead of a large contracting company. Give the little guy or the guy just starting out a chance. Not all of the independent handymen and smaller contractors are crooks. If you don't like what he tells you then don't hire him.  
 
Last time I checked you needed a "Development Permit" for under 110 sq. ft. Not difficult to get. Brandon Area Planning just wants to know the size of shed and where in your yard you want to build it, distance from property lines, etc. Large sheds and garages need Building Permits and inspections.

Shed less than 10 sq meter = 108 sq ft does not need permit.

I agree I would get a "little guy" to do it. The op asked about handymen, second post went on about bashing general contractors. Easy solution to find people is go to a lumber yard and talk with the contractor service personal and ask them for company referrals.
