Hi Guys , can anyone suggest where a person can take there kid horseback riding near town here? She took the course at the Mini U last year and would like to just go out and ride for an hour or whatever. Could someone email me the phone # or contact info for a business near Brandon that you can just take your kid out for an afternoon ? Thanks in advance !!!

had the same issue last summer looking for a place to take our granddaughter. We ended up going to Elkhorn Resort (Clear lake) where she went on a trail ride.

This question comes up every summer and unfortunately, the answer is still the same. There is no where anymore. It's my understanding Elkhorn closed about two years ago. There are no ranches around here that offer trail rides. The best answer that comes up to to make friends with some horse folks.  
Due to insurance and liability it is not feasible to run this kind of operation anymore.  
If your daughter is really into horses she could always join a 4-H group

Is about the only way she will get an hour riding around...but it won't be on a trail right away. I do take my students out of the arena, around our pasture for a change after I know their ability.  
Insurance costs are why trail riding businesses don't stay open long.

As far as I can tell, Elkhorn is still in operation.  
 
Kenosee used to have trail rides as well.

We will be building our farm next summer. Beautiful Trails are already cut through the land surrounded by trees and we will have horses available for trail riding. This will be a completely natural setting for riding in. Horses include QH, Gypsies, Ponies and mini ponies. We may also have horses broke to drive as well for wagon rides.  
 
We will be located 25 minutes south of Brandon.
