Yeah, splinters wasn't the issue. One sliced their leg on something, the other reefed their head on a low-lying something (I didn't see either happen directly, so IDK). It seemed to be in general state of disrepair, compared to other structures of similar design and age that have been torn down.
I'm not one to protect my children - they regularly fall out of trees and I let them build zip lines in the backyard - but I found that one was unsafe due to lack of maintenance in ways you wouldn't expect.
