This is scary! Are we really that self entitled as a society.....or are we just too dumb to follow rules (and apply common sense/courtesy)?!

When they say 'emergency vehicles' that also includes tow trucks, construction vehicles and highway dept. vehicles. Even though there technically not emergency vehicles they are still included in the law.

In addition to law, this really is just common sense.....regardless of who/what is on the road. Slow down, pull over/away if you can and use some caution.  
 
As for the article, my observations have been the opposite and I have seen the traffic in front of and behind me observing 100% of the instances I have encountered it.

I would never think it's okay to pass emergency vehicles doing 100km/hr whether there's a law or not.  
 
3wildboyz, I'm glad you are seeing the opposite!! I have seen too many times where people do not slow down or in town, not stopping and/or getting out of the way.

I have always slowed down and moved to the farther lane but have never been 100% of what the speed limit is marked for.  
 
As noted above not everyone reads the paper or news.  
 
I also recall seeing more talk about speed limits for tow trucks in the past couple years, mainly because of bad accidents.  
 
People just need to keep their eyes more open when there is a scene of any kind. Whether it be, construction, tow truck, hydro, RCMP, ambulance.  
 
I even move to farthest lane when passing the bikes, pulled over vehicles, broken down vehicles. All out of precautions. You don't know what's in front of the vehicle and could pop out of no where.  
 
Common sense I'd say..?!

If people don't know to pullover and be aware..these people don't need to drive. Any child knows that when lights flashing and signals. U get outta way. again a silly commen sense topic. Come on guys. Lets be adults and teach our young... The right way  

for personal reasons. But the next worst sound? When they have to blow their horns to get drivers to move the hell out of their way!

be nice if ppl pulled into the left lane on the highway when they see anyone(car, truck or cyclist) pulled over on the shoulder, its just common courtesy
