OP isn't kidding when they say the car is inside. Hope everyone's okay. Will ad a picture in a couple minutes.

I had already read the Brandon sun article on it, there were no injuries reported

Sun reporting that the restaurant was closed and that there are no injuries reported:

the restaurant was closed, with the force that it shook the entire building, I can't imagine how fast the driver was going

Do we know it's an impaired driver? Maybe it's just another old lady who got lost and disoriented, and thought that way the way to the airport.

Important at this juncture to point out that the CKLQ posting says that Police [b][i]believe[/i][/b] that the driver was impaired. The Sun story has been updated to state that [i]early reports suggest that alcohol may have been a factor[/i].  
 
There's no information I've seen about any kind of charges in that regard.

so I guess some levity is in order...

This restaurant is supposed to be eat-in/take-out, not drive-in/drive-thru.

The Brandon Sun article doesn't have any mention at all about alcohol.  
The only mention about the driver is that their condition was unknown and that there were no reported injuries.  
Says it was updated at 3:26pm.

it was a Chevy Cavalier and now the bdn sun has a better photo of the car and the plate number.

That's strange my copy of the Brandon Sun online was update also at 3:26pm and says: "The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but early reports suggest that alcohol may have been a factor."

Remember when a car went into next door at the pizza place a few years ago

Second car to crash into a business in the last few weeks.  
Truck hit the keystone a couple weeks ago

of today's bdn sun doesn't mention possibility of impaired driver. Online bdn sun talks of impairment. CKLQ talks of possible impaired driving charges.

IMPAIRED DRIVER.  
 
Police arrested a 65 year old Brandon woman, after she drove her car through the front window of a business in the 700 blk 18th St. The female driver displayed signs of intoxication and provided samples of her breath resulting in readings twice the legal limit. She was released and will appear in court next week. There were no injuries reported as a result of the accident.

even cover impaired drivers? Just curious if this person will get insurance or will have to pony up some serious cash for all the damage.

MPI does not cover any damage caused by Impaired Drivers, it's the drivers responsibility

Not that I think Autopac should pay for people's foolishness but glad it's not me having to pay for damages!

Autopac will pay the costs of repairs for damages caused by the vehicle so long as the vehicle was insured & then will sue the driver / owner to recover these costs.  
Will not though cover the costs of any damages to the vehicle.

all they were waiting for was the windows. There was nothing else keeping them from being open. but again, rumors abound...
