Anyone have any idea how much rain we have had today?  
 
Any pictures of flooded streets?

Comparing the two rain gauges that are on the weather page, it looks like the South got it quite a bit worse than the West. South Brandon gauge is showing 30.7mm, 28.4mm of which came in within a half hour period from the storm that just blew threw. The West gauge has had slightly more than half of that today at 17.1mm.  
 
The gauges record new readings every ten minutes, so if there happens to be more rain yet today those totals will accomulate on top of the totals that are shown.  
 
No pics from me, prepping supper.... but safe to assume that Richmond Ave between McDs and the mall was lakefront for a while!

water on Sycamore has now drained away. I could actually hear the suction from the storm sewers as the water was going down.  
 
One homeowner had to block that portion of the street because some idiots flew through the water in trucks sending waves of water to the houses. You can actually see one of those trucks in my video.

Winnipeg got it earlier today, and it was our turn for the heavy rain and flooding.

Have you heard if there's anything being done (or if anything can be done) to alleviate issues on Sycamore with these downpours? Everyone talks about Richmond Ave by McDs (myself included), but Sycamore to my eyes seems to get it the worst

give their heads a shake!! Lots of homes on either side of your video Trevor, why make the problem worse?  
 
I'd be furious if my home flooded by some jackass who flew thru the flooded street!

Spring, a couple more catch basins were installed. But it looks like the water is running so fast that it just goes over the catch basins. But after half an hour the water was nearly all drained. Even the storm water holding pond is now empty, when it was over half full.

According to my rain gauge, we received 1 1/4 inches rain between about 5 and 530 pm in the north end of Brandon.

Apparently certain homeowners on sycamore seem to think it is ok to block the street with their vehicle so people can't drive down it. It is not right for those guys to be driving through like jerks just to make the waves, but you can't block the street to prevent it either. Luckily there was no accident at the corner of magnolia and sycamore yesterday due to this! Like c'mon, this person sat in the middle of the street with their vehicle until the road was dry under them.

They are just protecting their homes from damage.  
In my mind, Keeping their home safe trumps your need to make big waves.  

Were weighing in. I would have no problem with someone blocking a street to protect their home. Sure it's an inconvenience if you have to go around, pretty sure it's a much bigger inconvenience to have a flooded home. Not everything's about you! BUT, it should have been done safely, in fact I would think the RCMP could respond to a call & close the rd in a situation like this.

won't come into Brandon to close a road. And BPS were likely already busy with call. Once most drivers saw the reason for blocking the road, they just turned around. One driver decided to peel out once he turned around. And I think after the truck I got on video ripped through sending the waves towards the homes, the home owner decided to block the road. I didn't see anything unsafe about blocking the road.  
 
The water was reaching one of the homes that I could see. And that was with no waves created by trucks.

We got another 7 eighths of an inch on Percy this morning so just shy of 3 inches since yesterday and more to come

since yesterday an today my rain gauge is reading 55 mm.

2.5 inches since friday so far

Ground sure is soft to walk on now!  
 
Between the two stations I'm showing since Friday:  
South: 46.8mm or 1.84 inches  
West: 31.4mm or 1.24 inches  
 
Have had a couple requests for more detailed historical info from both stations. Now that both have been up and collecting data for a little while I'll put some work into making that happen.  
 
Forecast seems to suggest that we're through it for a while. Not a mention of rain into next weekend...
