Power is out by linden lanes called hydro they said a car has hit a pole

Hydro said a car hit a pole

Called the MB Hydro toll-free line they have a message on there saying a vehicle hit a hydro pole. :/

Behind west end sobeys power flickered but didn't go out.

That car must've been really bookin' er to knock out power like that! Hopefully nobody's hurt (though I'm not holding my breath!)  
 

Did they give any time frame for how long before power is restored?

Could be a while - the accident was right down my street it turns out and it looks nuts! Hydro pole sheared right off & hanging upside-down from the wires & a vehicle on its roof :-|

my thoughts go out to the driver of the vehicle and any one else in it. it doesnt' look good. just drove by and yeah, the hydro pole looks like it was cut in half. here's hoping everyone is okay.

The meters should be spring loaded so they spin in reverse while this happens, Hydro should owe us for this. Do you know how much football I'm missing right now?!?

The cops are still there probably still putting the pieces together. The pole is still hangin there too sooo.. Be a while yet before we get power.

someone smashed into a pole and knocked the whole pole out of the ground n it took mb hydro like 5 hours to fix it but I bet the person is in critical condition cause I couldn't tell the make n model of the car I only can see the frame.

At 14:31 hours a 911 call was received of a single vehicle accident in the 400 block of Vanhorne Ave where a vehicle had stuck a hydro pole shearing it off and the vehicle had flipped onto its side trapping the driver and the 9 year old passenger. Brandon Fire and Emergency Services along with Manitoba Hydro also attended the scene to assist with downed hydro lines. Both individuals in the vehicle suffered non-life threatening/minor injuries. Investigation revealed that the suspect vehicle was travelling Eastbound on Vanhorne Ave when the vehicle stuck the curb, lost control and hit the hydro pole. The 34 year old female driver was charged with impaired driving and released for a later court date. Investigation into this incident is ongoing.

I was heartbroken for the kid when I read that. Glad no-one was seriously hurt.

I'll have to tell my sister on Vancouver Island about your suggestion....they've had power outage that last 3 days. Makes it hard to run their business .

Questioning what this driver was doing impaired with a kid in the car, let alone impaired and driving. The poor child, and then to be in an accident and trapped. Some people...thank gosh the child was not seriously injured.  
 
 

should i really feel bad that i wish the driver suffered more serious injures?  
like really? driving drunk at 2:30 on a Sunday with your kid in the car? you deserve to not walk away after that
