Police don't charge a person with double first degree murder unless they have convictable evidence.
Even just the fact that they arrest this guy and then know exactly where to find her body in a rural location shortly afterwards speaks for itself.
Judicial formalities aside, its a safe bet to align ones assumptions with the conclusions of the police investigators.
Regardless though, I think the OP was venting on a wider issue then just this particular case, which is child abuse.
If child abuse is still occurring in our society than obviously the current punishments are not severe enough, should be no sympathy or compassion granted to these types, and in a case like this, they shouldn't even be provided the basic rights of a human being, because that their not.
