Strange, that's the first time I've seen a request like that.

Me too....I thought it seemed kinda strange......that's why I passed it on!

Maybe someone found a camera or something.. Police have done it in the past.

Have to admit it's got me curious. I wonder why they blurred out her necklace.?

I wondered that too. But from what I can tell it looks to be some sort of a medical office, there's items blurred behind them as well, that look like thats where they'd belong.  
Judging by the placement of the necklace I would bet it's an lanyard and if it is it's probably an identifying one at that.

I see that this thread has had 4500 views so far, I hope someone among them is able to help the Police find what they're looking for. If you can help please contact the info at the link.  
 
FWIW, may have no relevancy at all and I'm really hesitant to jump to confident conclusions without more info but the file's data appears to point to it having been taken with an iPhone 5C. Meta Data is showing a creation date of August 24, but not clear if that's when the photo was actually taken or the date that it was Photoshopped?

Possibly one of the most vague police requests for assistance to date.

This story just gets more strange. There's now a CBC article about them and their situation.

you beat me to sharing the link. Just finished reading that!!! Really hope someone can help!!

The article does not say if the police have them in custody, or in a safe house and they just are not talking (though it alludes to that being the case) or if they have lost the pair.  
 
But if these people are truly scared and are in danger, seems odd that the police have posted their pictures for all to see. What is ever scarier is if they are in hiding here in Brandon, and the threat they are hiding from sees the picture - what kind of craziness have we invited into our town?  
 
Guess I may have seen too many thrillers.  
Really a head scratcher though.....

Would be that they are from a Hutterite or German background. Based only from their facial features.

I saw the initial police release, now its even more mysterious! Hope they can figure it out and make things right!

Kind of sounds as if they are fleeing a very harmful situation and they are seeking refuge in a safe location.. Likely hard to proceed without concrete evidence though.

At first, second and thrid glance, I keep thinking that to me they seem like they cuold be from a hutterite colony? Her conservative clothing, modest hair, no make up. I would be asking anyone who would have contact with the colonies.

Not trying to sound like a whack job but, my first thoughts given the secrecy and ambiguity was a cult of some kind.

was just on the radio that they have been located and the mom has been charged with fraud as they claimed to be part of a human trafficking ring......and the truth comes out....heard it on star fm.

I think she has now lost the custody battle. I feel for the kid. Hopefully the other parent is a viable option.

Please remember that as is the case with any situation where facts have not been tried in court, what is noted are allegations at this time.

What is really stupid about this story now? CBC has blurred the faces in the picture.  
 
Because the child is in protective custody, the pair cannot be named. But after a week of having their faces plastered all over the internet and media with the express purpose of identifying the pair- it is laughable that they are blurring the faces.
