I only park in far spots in walmart cuz of the idiots like park close to my car.

I agree with Getty. Drivers that do not want park too far they will squeeze between cars which may create a dent to my vehicle or I have trouble opening my door because they park so close.  
When I broke my knee and had a knee brace. I wouldn't be able to open my door wide enough to get in especially with a straight knee that doesn't bend.  
It is not about having a nice car it is because who wants their car dented or scratched.  
Not sure but I find parking lots now be narrower spots to park they should make lines bigger. We are not in 1950 with smaller vehicles.

I park like that cause I am tired of paying my deductible for dings and hit and runs. Everyone can call me names....it is cheaper than parking normal. Maybe parking lots should supply larger marked lots.

Park in larger spots or two spots but usually further away. Last year new car and within a week had a big ding from lady who pulled up right beside me in her car with rest of lot empty, windy day and she did not try to control her door. Oh well she shrugs off! I don't buy a new car for others to beat up. Seems so many do not care and are not respectful of others property.

Parking lot lines should be drawn like Costco. At Costco no matter what you drive there is lots of room for doors to open fully without banging into other cars.  
 
It is common courtesy of people to pay attention of the distance between cars. If you are parked close then carefully open your door. Don't be an ass!  
 
I to have a never car and got dings from idiots that don't know how to park.

Sure of the numbers but it seems there are more suv's, trucks, than cars now. So l don't understand why they make the parking stalls so narrow.l have a 2 door car that the doors are long and you need to swing them wide open to get in or out, so again why are the stalls so narrow.If you paid 50 grand (l am just saying IF you paid) would you not want to keep it dent free. I have also witnessed many times people denting another car and just drive away. So l think that people that have nice cars and take up space are thinking, if l park here l will be (hopefully) dent and idiot free and save from going to MPI and hence the rates won't increase from parking lot damage. (If l have to explain the rest of the story you have not been at these parking lots at peak hours.) But c'mon would you not do it to, how about some of these trucks, they go up to 70 grand plus. I'm just sayin.

theres a few reasons as suggested already, they care about their vehicles and some dont, or they are too big and its a pain to wiggle into the tight spots, then a pain to get out of if someone parks besides you, eay way to fix that in a truck is to back in but weh, idc if i dont park perfect and idc if someone else doesnt too,,,i got better things to complain about lol  
 
why i think the spaots are too small is these shopping centers are designed by a firm somewhere way off and they have a set design of how wide the pots will be, these set designs are to maximize the "spots" to meet the requirements, they work in larger cities where most are cars but here where a lot of shoppers are farmers or other working people that need trucks or bigger vehicles to get through snow ect

Sometimes we take up two spots, and usually you can only do that towards the end of a lot anyways.  
We do it because I use a wheelchair and no matter how much room you try to leave on the left side of the vehicle someone comes along and tries to make it impossible to get in anyways.  
Obviously its not true of all people who do it, but some people have a legit reason.

I have two toddlers to load from both sides of my vehicle. Can't do it in a single spot. Guess that makes me a moron, shouldn't have had kids, too inconvenient to others' parking

I've got two kids to load up too, but I can make do with one spot...

airline seats, if you reduce the size and space between seats, the more you can fit on the plane. Hence more passengers.

Since I don't think there's any laws about taking up more than one space or parking between the lines in these parking lots, everyone just needs to chill out, act with a bit of civility and leave enough room for people to exit and enter their vehicles. Any one notice that the closer to the front of the building you are, the tighter the parking is, seems like we're a nation of people afraid to walk. Very seldom have I seen a lot full enough that I couldn't park in an area where other vehicles were a problem. Maybe when I get older I'll try parking closer to the door.

I could 'make do' with one spot too, but I prefer not to squish my 30lb boys through cracks in the door just to avoid being called selfish by anonymous people on the internet.  
 
If someone taking up too much space in a parking lot that I doubt was cram packed is the worse thing you have to complain about, I'd consider yourself very lucky. It's beyond a first world problem.

I sometimes have 3 toddlers and load from both sides and I'm a big girl!! Lol  
 
There have been times I've had to load them all in on one side due to too close of parkers. I just lean over seats to get them all buckled in safely. It's not convenient but what else do you do? I've also had to climb into the drivers side through the passenger side....now that's a feat in itself when you're a big girl lol  
 
One time I was putting the 3 kids in and I know my door was touching another car but I had gently put it there and knew it was fine and not leaving a mark. The owner came up and I felt bad but before I could even apologize she closed my door on my legs! I wasn't so apologetic after that.  
 
Parking lots suck, period! It's how you deal with it that makes a difference IMO. I used to think double Parker's were rude but my mind is changing...

Since line parking should be larger, and doubtful things will change with big retailers, the only truly bad behaviour, OP are the morons who really don't give a thought to the vehicle beside them.  
 
Save my $&@) off for a decent, reliable new vehicle. First week I parked evenly in a stall so far away by itself, only to come out with a cluster of cars/trucks around me (closer spots were plenty) and dings in my door. Could have cried.  
 
Disrespectful people are the true morons here in my opinion.

to only two spots. If you really make an effort you could occupy four. After all, you are entitled to your entitlements.  
 
Even better is to use four spots as close to the door as possible. It is well documented that the walk to the store from your parking spot is far, far more exhausting than spending an hour walking around inside the store.

Just as annoying is finding what looks like a good parking spot, only to find it occupied by a shopping cart.  
Really don't get people who are too lazy to return the cart to the designated areas.

Or instead why not lobby for larger parking spots. I noticed at the Keystone in front of the Manitoba Room I think there is a row of wider parking spots. It is like a spot and a half. Beautiful for those with larger vehicles. Fantastic that those with kids can get in and out of a spot with one spot taken. When my mirrors are over the lines and cars are parked beside me close to the lines I have no choice to rub my door on their vehicle. So really I could care less who wants to complain about my parking lol. After paying a deductible I said screw it.

At Walmart one day, I went to pull in to what I thought was an empty stall. As I get closer, there in the middle of four stalls was a truck. Seriously? Four was a bit much...

If you have a large truck, and take up 2 spots at the end of the parking lot, I have no issue with that. Walmart is tight, one trip, a large truck pulled up so close to the back of my vehicle, i couldn't open the hatch, I had to get in, move the vehicle forward then unload my cart. Really?? There is no need for that, there were plenty of spots, it was early morning.

Should I answer to you? Who are you? The parking police?! I will park (and drive!) exactly the way I feel like parking so mind your own gd business!

An unconventional parking job could make you famous !!
