Hi everyone im looking for some info for a friend who is in desprete need of a small loan. Are there any loan places that take small monthly payments? Thanks in advance.. ( Do not need any rude comments its not for me and she is in a tough spot right now)

You could try a credit union or have your friend talk to their bank. You might be surprised and the interest won't be outrageous.

the only issue with that is her credit is not very good.. due to her ex.. So we arent sure what else to do at this point

Easy financial, i got a small loan from them a little over a year ago and they are awesome to deal with.

If she's got bad credit, probably someplace like Easy Financial will be the only place that will touch her. But she should start with where ever she usually banks, as they would be most likely of all banks to give her one because she has an established relationship.  
 
I do know from experience too that it can sometimes be tough to borrow money when in the middle of a break up.  
 
Word of caution though: depending on what she needs the loan for, it might make her financial problems worse. There might be other solutions that would be better for her in the long run. I had a friend that kept taking "small loans" for various reasons, and it never worked out as planned for her and it just kept snowballing. I'm not talking about payday loans either.

Thank u everyone who responded.. I will get her to contact her bank. it doesnt hurt to try. She just needs some money to get caught up on her bills and rent. She is working but with everything she needs a hand

I would also suggest if it's bills and rent she contact them individually and set up a payment plan with them. Most companies will do this if you are pro-active and tell them you can pay x-amount every 2 weeks to try and get caught up as you do not have the actual amount. Rather than waiting until they are phoning you for money.  
 
Also try and cut back on her bills if she can. Phone, cable, internet etc.

she has nothing right Now she is very behind in rent and is about to lose her apartment. Her landlord has been very patient with her but she is falling to far behind

Is there any way she could ask her employer for a loan and have it taken off her cheques over a set time period? If she's been there a while and is a valued employee, might be worth a shot.  
Sounds like time for some hard choices - sell her car and take public transit, give up the cell phone. Sounds like tough times, but if she loses her apartment will only end up farther behind trying to cough up extra money for damage deposit and rent on a new place.

If she is having problems making her hydro payments, there is a program set in place for people to have their bills cleared. I believe you are allowed to only do this once ever and there is criteria that she would need to meet, but it might be worth a shot for her.  
I've been there and I know that any little bit can help.

If it is a small loan and this person is your friend, why don't you lend her the money?

i personally do not have the extra money right now. i have helped her the best that i can at this poit

she doesnt have a amount set she will be happy if she can get caught up with her rent and she is behind 1000 dollars

i can't lend her the money nor will any bank if you don't have any idea on the amount you need you people need to get your act together if you expect help it is no wonder she is having money problems and will have them into the future

altho you may have taken the comment as rude there is a point there that i hope you take into consideration  
 
if you dont even know what will help then no one is likely to give your friend a loan, are you going to walk in the bank and say i need money but IDK how much and its because i have defaulted on bills already, that doesnt look good at all, the only way your friend would have a chance is if they go in with a clear plan on what they need and how they are going to pay it back as well as a plan not to get into the mess again  
 
the other point is that if you really dont know what you owe or what you need, basically the above plan, then your friend is very likely to be right back where they started but with one more loan to pay ...so ya as rude is it is your friend does need to get her shit together or she will be always in a world of trouble ...i say that in the nicest way possible

You guys are all being VERY RUDE. This is a friend trying to help out another friend. How is she supposed to know exactly how much her FRIEND owes. She knows that she is in a tough spot and trying to help her. The person who needs the money probably knows exactly how much she needs. She unlike you guys is trying to be a caring helpful friend. Sorry if you guys have never had any problems in your lives and the money tree is always in full bloom. Things don't always go perfectly for everyone all the time.

I would ask her to check with her bank first, and the advice about the payment plan to her bills is solid advice. While it might be easier to get loans from places like citifinancial or easy loan, their interest rates are pretty exorbitant and I have seen people struggling to pay them back. Just the minimum payments alone can be a stretch depending on the amount she takes out

It's good to try and help your friend, but I don't think a loan would be a good idea for her.  
 
Like currybun says, the rates will be high, and she'll spend a long time paying back. If she doesn't have money for her rent etc NOW, how will she pay her bills PLUS the loan, which will not be a small amount due to interest?  
 
This is the sort of situation that makes payday loans so profitable. Everyone knows those rarely end well.  
 
The best suggestion I've read is for her to work with her creditors to get things paid. She might need to work a second job. Or give up her apartment for awhile, maybe she can move in with you until she gets stuff paid and saves for a new apartment?  
 
It's a tough situation, and there is no good or easy solution. The trick will be to get herself into a position that will let her move on the easiest once everything is paid.

if being truthful is being rude well sssorry but you are the one who came on here opening yourself to comments and as for happy 1986 i moved here 30 yrs. ago with a green garbage bag half full of clothes i now own my own house car etc. paid for in full how did i do that? lots of hard work always paid my bills on time the person i feel for the most here is the landlord as they are the ones who are most likely to get screwed in this your friend doesn't pay her bills now and i'm sure this trend will continue

The truth doesn't get you far if you have an attitude to go with it.

Glad things worked out for you. Hopefully the OP's friend will make some good choices in the near future and have things go good for her too.

I think your friends best bet is to try borrow money from friends and family to pay her rent. I seriously doubt given her current financial situation that a bank will give her a loan. All other bills including necessities like hydro, gas, and even non essentials like cable and internet can have payment arrangements made if she asks and is honest with them. That's the kicker though, its better to be upfront then to just avoid them, they will take payments no matter how small if she sticks to the plan she arranges with them. Payday loans are also an option but they are brutal to pay back and she should borrow the least amount necessary. After that she's going to have to make some hard choices about her priorities. Things can be hard but to be that far behind in rent is telling.

I get what your trying to say. Your just being a jerk about it. Good for you, you have your life together. I have a house, a new car, lots of toys and gadgets too, but something unexpected could happen in my life tomorrow and change all of that. I could lose my job or my spouse, someone could get sick, who knows. I just think that if I needed advise how I would like to be treated. That is all they are asking for is advise, not your criticism or even your money.

Like others have said. Try the bank first. If they won't touch you then you are in a tough spot. The other loan companies are out to make money and they will. If your friend can only pay back small amounts at a time no lender is going to go for that. That means you have pretty much over maxed out your ability to pay. That is just reality. Can they get someone else to share the home with? This could be a slight source of income too if there is an extra room to let type deal. Many people have fallen on hard times. Most of the time a second job is the easiest way to get out of debt.

i certainly wasn't trying to be rude but i was trying to point the ops friend in the right direction

you also assume because we give the advice straight up, unsugar coated that we have never been on hard times, while IDK about the other poster i definitely have, i have been jobless despite and with very little savings, what i have never been is stuck not knowing what i needed to do to improve my situation  
 
just a note for the ones who like to jump on rents and landlords in Brandon, this landlord has allowed this tenant to get $1000 behind, hopefully she manages to figure something out but thats a pretty nice landlord and also why you need to charge more then what the mortgage is when you rent
