And if found guilty of this crime, all his right should be forfeited and his name published. Charge him like an adult as terrorism is a serious crime. We can't let things like this happen in our back yard and can't let them go unpunished. This is very serious.

I assume this thread is regarding his "support" of ISIS and not his child pornography...  
 
It sounds like it was one comment in support of them (not actual action), but I will not pass judgement until there is more to the story.

not enough info yet imo to freak out, at 16 child porn could be a pic of him or his reasonably aged girl friend or it might be a huge deal, IDK but since many teens get into trouble for normal teen sexual interest i will reserve judgment on that, same with an ISIS comment, if it was really only one comment it could be an immature kid being stupid or the start of a serious issue, but again we need to wait until we know more.  
 
altho at 16 most kids are well on their way to adulthood some still are just not mature or wise enough to really understand how serious some of the charges are and that is why we separate youth and adult crimes

Making a comment about supporting ISIS is enough to be charged with terrorism? I'm hoping there is more to the story than simply a comment posted online.

Seriously media is the definition of "blowing things out of proportion". It says accessed doesn't mean the children involved were actually 7? Now does it? And it also states visited in an attempt to convert to muslim. Has no bearing that any of this is acutaually true. I'm with everyone else wait until the truth is revealed. And very well could be a kid that just didn't know better, age doesn't always mean someone is mature, heck I know people in their 30's plus that still make bad decisions...give the kid a break until you know for certain!

as far as comments im sure the authorities do weight the chances of comments being a joke or the maturity of the person and their other actions before they lay charges or even start a more in-depth investigation, the reality is they cant investigate every stupid action, nor should they, they have limited manpower and funds and do have to prioritize, thats the way life works.I also trust they have the training to quickly prioritize and assess the risks of a comment and actions,  
 
Plus who really wants to live being scared to make a joke. while i dont in the airport line do we really want to live scared to breath where every immature person that says something inappropriate gets investigated and charged, think about that for a second, are we really that scared for our safety that we are going to inadvertently give it away, I hope not  
 
maybe this kid did get recruited, its normal for people to prey on impressionable youth i just hope it turns out to be a false alarm but if it isnt we should all be glad they caught it and all keep a watch out for our own kids

A comment about supporting ISIS should not enough to be charged with terrorism. Perhaps a lesser charge.  
 
Using your bomb joke example. Is making the joke enough to be charged with terrorism?

With the BS reporting you'll need to take it up with them. Here's the link showing he is charged with possessing and accessing child porn involving 7-14 year olds and a terrorism offence for allegedly using social media to encourage violence on behalf of the Islamic State.

that jokes and threats should be taken seriously. Its unfortunate that time has proven some kids to follow through with these threats. We have numerous school shootings to prove it. I for one am at a zero tolerance for such "acts of terrorism" in our for the most part, peaceful country.  
 
And although I did not read the article, the discussion of possessing child pornography sounds like this individual is setting himself up and us for a world of trouble.

just because there has been incidents of people being harassed by crazy over the top authorities doesn't make it right and if somethings not right we shouldnt go out of our way to use that as proof that it is or be scared of reprimand

Of course it's a threat, but that does not automatically make it terrorism.

Incorrect. A bomb threat is NOT automatically treated as terrorism these days.

In a video blog posted Friday, Sankoff even threw out the possibility that the culprit, if caught, could face charges of committing a terrorist act, though that would require showing that the individual did so for a political, religious or ideological purpose.
