My husband and I are having a "discussion". We want to pull out our carpet and put in hardwood. Is it ok to only change the master bedroom to hardwood and leave the two spare rooms with the carpet or do they all have to be changed? Help save our marriage! lol

Yes, of course you can just change the master!

It is perfectly acceptable to leave the other bedrooms with carpet (provided it is a neutral colour and in good shape.) Why not take a "wait and see" attitude and find out whether they really bug you with the carpet still intact. Although the dye lots may not be identical with the hardwood, they will be close enough that you can always do them later. When we were house-hunting we saw all kinds of configurations-carpet in "kids rooms" was common.

Men want carpet in bedrooms, I've learned. I vote same floor throughout, but conceded to my husband to agree to carpet in bedrooms only. I think you're safe either way.

Is that all the bedrooms have to match. if you have the money and can afford it, do all the bedrooms.

Are the bedrooms all painted the same color? Do they have the same drapes? Bedspreads? Of course one can have hardwood and the others carpet.

I think they just mean the flooring.  
 
As someone who has 11 different kinds of flooring in their house courtesy of the previous owner, I say keep it uniform. Do all the bedrooms at the very least. Even better is do the entire floor.
