I couldn't agree with you more Adam. This is an interesting exchange and my only motivation here is to make sure that ebrandon people know what is fact and what is fiction. This will be the last I have to say unless it is opened on another thread.
Reid- Yes you are right. It is a dangerous practice and in a lot of cases the driver speeds up to get through on the yellow light but the lights turns red before they get to the far side making it an offence.
Aweatheredheart; The drivers of the vehicles you were a passenger in were not charge with going through a yellow light. That's the point here. There is no offence for going through a yellow light. You can't get a ticket for an offence that doesn't exist. Below is a link to the Manitoba Brown Book. It is has the list of all Manitoba offences and what the fine is. Section 88 of the Manitoba HTA shows no reference to going through a yellow light.
