Was working tonight on the details of the Rivers Game and Fish Association Derby. New format this year. All pike derby. Prize money for the top 10 places, over $3000 in money to give away. First place is $1000. March 12th. 10am-3pm.

The Healthy Lake Committee is hosting our 3rd annual ice fishing derby on March 5th. The first two derbies were very successful with great fishing, and this year should be better than ever. Derby is tomorrow (Feb 6) 10 to 2..

Tomorrow 10-2. $10 entry fee. 15 and under free. Can only drive onto the ice to unload gear.

It was an excellent day on the river. 285 people entered the derby. Hardly any wind and nice temps. The kids had a blast with every child getting a prize. Kudos to the organizer and his crew. See you next year.

I took a visit to the Rivers Fish and Game dock and the ice is still good. Tonight going out to set up for tomorrows derby. Hope to see you all out there. I know people have seen the crappy ice conditions at Oak Lake....Rivers is nothing like it. Will be a beautiful day for a derby to end off the season.....Who will win the $1000 first place prize?

Came off the ice today at Rivers after helping set up for the derby. From what I hear the Brandon boat launch side is a little wet. The Rivers Game and Fish launch is very good for access (Hwy 250 north-signs posted). There is actually very little water on the ice. Will try posting a video to facebook. All fisherman and ladies and kids......common out for the Northern Pike Classic.

Hope to see you all out on the ice today fishing at rivers. Will be a good time. Nice weather too.
