so sometime last night my truck was ransacked on 19th street, I always leave my truck unlocked because id rather save my windows from being smashed...I don't leave anything of value in the vehicle, but I do leave my garbage in the center console, the funny thing is these guys never took anything but they left a little mini calculator and a pair of womens sunglasses, so if you are missing these things let me know and im me and ill get them back to you. and these guys are either drunk or high...snow leaves footprints lol

believe me its cheaper to leave it unlocked than to have to pay for a new window, but im just wanting to return the stuff they left in my truck. maybe they thought I needed something of value to steal, so they left the sunglasses and calculator for the next time it happens.

if something of value is left in a vehicle, Ipad, cellphone, golf clubs etc. the windows would be smashed in order to steal.

Left the truck door unlocked by accident one day and it was ransacked, I always check now to make sure it's secure.

Leave anything of value in my truck..I'd rather have them scatter garbage all around then to break my window to see if there is something of value. I'm not dumb enough to leave valuable merchandise in my vehicle. Thus I leave it unlocked so my window doesn't get smashed and then have to pay a deductible to have it fixed. Unlocked or locked if they wanna get in they will.
Soooo if anyone is missing a little pink calculator and some brown women's sunglasses let me know and I'll return them.

I had both cars ransacked last year and both were forced entry so I totally understand how you leave your truck unlocked. I'm not stupid enough to leave valuables inside but these fools will just break in anyway. I had so many people say "don't leave valuables in the car". I don't, and these idiots can't even tell in the dark anyway until they've ransacked the vehicle. Thanks for making us aware. Now that the temperature is getting better I suspected the time would come!

MPIC covers the vehicle if unlocked and if the vehicle gets torched? It's one thing to be ransacked but what if your car was set on fire? If parked too close to the garage or house either one could burn.

I say lock the doors, thieves like it easy why help them?

Not sure why a car would be randomly be torched ! But i would think if doors are left unlocked I can see mpi putting up a fight

there were quite a few unlocked vehicles that were almost toast, one was successfully destroyed by fire.

You never know what people's intentions are.

If your vehicle is vandalized MPI waives the deductible. Daughter had her side window smashed a few weeks back and no charge for replacement.

I think this may be new, not many are aware of it.

but only if your deductible is the 200 dollar one. I believe that is the case.

I put up security cameras if they go through my vehicle again I will submit video to police . if they enter garage to get in vehicle they will also be taped as well as electric fencer is set up enough of this crap.

Must be a new thing, when my truck was broke into in Winnipeg I had to pay my deductible.

Also these kids will normally leave a locked vehicle alone, so you're only hurting yourself by leaving your vehicle unlocked.
