I'm from a small town and our grocery stores close pretty early. It would be extremely beneficial to have groceries delivered however the main reason I would use this service is because I don't have time to go run and pick them up. If I'm not able to pick them up I certainly couldn't sit around my house waiting for them to drop them off. I would need a very specific drop off time and really, a drop off time after the grocery store closes when I'm actually home is what we would need. Either that or we give them a key to our house so they can put our refrigerated/frozen items away for us until we do actually get home. Or maybe fridge/freezer in the garage? It would be tricky for us!

Yes this system works very well over there. We were out of any big city but we still used online service. But, I remember the delivery was free for goods more than £50 and store pick up was free too. Plus, Adds and Tesco were open 24/7. It''s more convenient and affordable over there. Here banks even charge for having a bank account, I doubt they will provide the similliar service for online shopping.

I find the timing of this post exceptional Adam. I've been gifted with the ability to distribute canned vegetables and fruits, and have been looking at a variety of distribution options.

I know we have a high density of elderly people, and I myself know of a few single parents, or disabled friends who could benefit greatly from this service.

We will offer low cost, and high quality products delivered to your door. From one of the best manufacturer's and producer's in the world.

The growing time constraints in peoples lives have led to innovative new ways for us to be able to nourish ourselves. As it has been mentioned by some of our UK friends, the home delivery/internet ordering systems have been growing. I have been wondering how succesful something like this would be in Canada.

Thanks everybody for sharing your opinions, and insights to an already booming niche in the global market. I'll let you all know once I have the label up and running. I'm sure some shameless self promotion won't be out of line, as we have already seen some promoting of the other 'big box' chains taking place in this thread.

While I think this is a great service for seniors, disabled, injured, no transportation, new moms,this service is not for me. If my life ever gets so busy that I can't go buy my household's groceries, I need to re-evaluate my life and priorities.

I see SS already has parking spaces close to the front of the store designated for Click and Collect (pic added). Service itself not online yet by definitely curious to see how it works when ready

who has used it in Alberta and is completely happy with it. The quality picked has been great and finds it incredibly handy. She's a new mom and baby hates the car seat so grocery shopping turns into a nightmare quickly. So she orders and her hubby picks them up on his way home from work. Super slick and has been great for their family! I'll be using it for sure!

Looks like this launches tomorrow. You can already play around with the shopping cart system on their website... Looking forward to giving it a try some time soon. Biggest thing is we''re pretty particular with picking items like bread, milk, yogurt and meat with the longest expiry dates possible to maximize the time between shopping trips. I don''t see the ability to select items based on that in the shopping cart system... will be interesting to see if as you put your order in you can put in special requests along those lines, or if the person doing the shopping will naturally shop that way for you. Or maybe accepting a little randomness in life is the tradeoff for the convenience of a system like this

Edit: Looks like when you go to checkout there is in fact the option to indicate "Longest expiry date please." Thumbs up to that. Note that your minimum total order placed online appears to be $30.

I think this is great. Will use occasionally. I think its good for family's with young kids or single parent. Order most of your order online. Go to store and grab your fruits and vegetables with your already picked order. Your grocery trip was 20 min vs an hour. You still get your fruits and vegetables picked as you like them. But didn't need to do whole trip around store.

I'd like to say I am a huge fan of Superstore's Click and Collect. However-
I am nor impressed with other customers parking in the pick up stalls when they are not using the service

Come on people, the parking spots are clearly marked. If you aren't there for Click & Collect pick up, park somewhere else.

My daughter in law used the Superstore online service. Picked up her order...

She went home and then unpacked it. When she filled out the info on the online forms she asked for no substitutions. They substituted with fruit about 5 times as expensive that she doesn't now know what to do with. Also, green bananas that were asked for do not look overripe and are not yellow. (She went into the store to get the groceries and saw green ones there and assumed then that she would get those in her order).

Otherwise she did like the choices on the online ordering. Whomever is filling the orders does need to pay closer attention to customer's wishes and their chosen items.

How do you go about with a complaint? Will they refund you monies spent? She didn't bother doing so.

I've only used it once but I think I will be using it a lot more throughout the winter.

I tried a few produce items to see how that part would go. My bananas and pineapple were exactly how I requested them

A few items that I buy regularly were not listed on the website, which was kind of annoying. Otherwise I am very happy with the service.

ive worked in groceries, and we have access to and by far go the distance to give the best. id love this, and do all my shopping this way. without a doubt.

I''ll definitely be looking into using this! I usually don''t get out of work until closer to 5:30 and then have to pick up my kid from daycare. After all is said and done, the last thing I want to do is take a tired and hungry child grocery shopping. I also don''t like how busy it is on the weekends and get annoyed with people. This is a fantastic option!

I have not tried this but will next time I shop. I can see this helping us to stay on budget. I always get sucked into buying things I don't need while walking through aisles. You can see your total before checkout - go back and delete things. This is going to save me money in the long run I think. Sit down, meal plan and shop, all while in my home?! Awesome concept. Can't wait to try.

on substitutions-I noticed that when I was ordering, everything showed as being marked no substitutions. At some point during checkout that all changed-every item came up as substitution allowed. I had to change each one back to no substitutions. Just something to pay attention to when completing your order.

At superstore is pretty sweet. Website was a bit slow tho but when I arrived all the stalls were empty. Also....a worker brought out a couple items (produce) I ordered to ask if they were to my standard!!!! Loved the fact I didn't have to lug my kids inside a busy store and hear them "I want I want....". And saved me a lot of money by eliminating impulse buying habits. It does take time navigating the website but I feel with more use it will get better. All in all I like this new service and will use a lot in the future.

I noticed that too - that at some point they all automatically changed to allowing substitutions. I left most of them as "allow" to see what would happen. However, on my $400 order I only had 4 substitutions in the end (which is a much better rate than I usually get when I shop myself, LOL), with 3 of them being acceptable.

You do get an email prior to pick up listing your substitutions and you're able to decline them. I declined the one that was too expensive (it subbed a not on sale item). It was all fine.

For the first time and it was great! I even had some entertainment from my warm car as the groceries were being brought out. Some dude was handcuffed and hauled away by the cops.

Back to the service...the site was simple to use, the food (produce) was exactly as I specified and the person was very friendly.
(You have to phone from your car once you are parked.) He asked if the substitute was okay and I said it was fine.

I like the fact I did not wander around the store and pick up extra items not on my list.

I recommend giving it a try to see if it's for you or not!

i was approached about this (not this specifically but same thing different box store)...and you're right to think it's cool but that there's something that just doesn't add up. I'm very excited about all of this, but I can say $3 isn't realistic, most managers will roll their eyes and quietly beg to be excluded in small centers like Brandon...it'll work, someday, but not here in the near future.

About the $3 charge?? i dont understand why ur saying managers would roll their eyes at it... N ask to be excluded for a place like brandon ... Actually for a place like brandon with so many small towns around this city ordering groceries online is the best thing
They ever could of came up with.

Sorry but you dont sound very knowledgeable about the service.. or whatever it is ur talking about

The blue signs are where you park for click and collect, they are numbered. so the side were u see the numbers, each sign will have a number 1-4 is the correct side. You need a credit card online when u place ur order but thats just to hold ur order. You can pay debit (they bring one to ur car) or pay with credit card u signed up online which they will charge once u pick up ur groceries. Or pay with a different credit card using debit machine. Can also use pc/superstore gift cards

I often drive up to Walmart to get groceries. With this minus 40 bull-t I decided I didn't want to walk out in the cold, huge parking lot. This would be a great day to try this at Superstore.

Superstore - not Walmart - got my 70 bucks and lots more future business because of it.

Is not a service I will use every single time but I will use it a lot.
