I think there must be a competition to see who has the loudest bike. One would think a person would get tired of having a bike with loud exhaust. Have only heard/seen one go by that had stock exhaust.

I don't find them loud at all! To me it's a sure sign of spring!

And they are looking beautiful and sounding amazing!! Love that the snow is gone and the bikes are out again

Not to mention that if the bike is loud it is just an added safety measure. It's not always easy to see a bike so if they are loud it might give a better chance of letting someone know they are there.

If that was the case why don't they come from the manufacture with loud mufflers? I'm sure the first thing the Manitoba safety motorcycle course tells everyone is to put loud mufflers on their motorcycle, it's safer.Not driving in ones blind spot helps too.

Plenty of bikes come from manufacturers with loud exhaust. And as a driver you are supposed to check your blind spot, more then just bikes drive there

Not more than 92 decibals, and that's being generous.

i havent heard any bikes that are to loud but then maybe i just expect to hear road noise when by a road?  
 
i also find it is easier to know a bike is coming when i can hear them so i dont mind at all if they do make noise

I prefer the bikes over the one or two diesel hillbilly hot rods that are always mashed to the floor in my area.

You must be getting old. The louder the bike the better it is....to all the people with loud bikes reeve them up and make some noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get a kick out of riding by a certain car on willier cres. In the summer and setting off his car alarm. Lmao. Gotta love loud pipes

I think it's kind of nice to see (hear) some of the signs of spring a few weeks early.

There are more loud trucks and cars out there than motorcycles at the moment......  
 
Why don't people complain about them?  
 
PS - my ride has stock pipes but it is loud.

If you don't like it wear ear plugs.  
Sure beats all the cars with a fart can attached to them.

That's someone's passion and love! Why cry over then five seconds you endure it? Get positive!

bikes and more noisy trucks and cars. I don't have a problem with loud bikes/trucks .....in the appropriate areas i guess.  
 
But it seems that riders with the load rides seem to flaunt in it the residential areas, and early morning or late at night. As if they dont care about fellow residents, its their right, they can do it , and no one will stop them.  
 
don't ask me to wear ear plugs if I don't like it, you have a right to do what ever you want with in the limits of the law. that does not mean you should.  
 
have a little consideration for your fellow citizens.

The same thing that did in Edmonton and Winnipeg. The police will start to carry decibel meters and start stopping vehicles and doiing noise checks. In the cities above it came about because loud motorcycles were flaunting the fact they had loud exhaust systems. In wpg it is a $250 fine. Loud exhaust if fine if you don't constantly root on it when accelerating. Some are going to cause all motorcycle to be painted with the same brush which is too bad.

Pipes save lives.

But remember not everyone enjoys the roar of a motorcycle or blaring of ones radio. With a hearing impairment I for one enjoy the quiet so I can hear the things I want to hear. I don't like others imposing their crap on me as I'm sure many others feel the same way. It's a small world out there and we all have to live in it. Have your fun but show consideration for others as well.

situationally aware will save more lives. Ride like everyone is out to get you.  
Do not ride in blind spots, ride in a position that leaves you a way out if things go bad, while stopping or slowing down watch your mirrors and leave a cushion ahead of you, flow with the traffic, if following an erractic driver stay well behind him, do not get in front of him.  
Use your turn signals, make sure all your lights work, on a clear open road with no traffic practice your panic stops.  
Do not tail gate, stay clear of beat up and damaged vehicles, think about why they are damaged.  
 
My opinion is people who rely on loud pipes to keep them safe are in for a rude surprise.  
Also loud pipes can scare other drivers into making unpredictable moves.  
 
This is from a rider with 800,000 -900,000 km of riding over the last 45 years  
 
just remember grey hair riders don't get that way by accident

I'd rather here the rumble of a bike then the zing of those tin can cars that hang out at Canadian tire lol...bunch of pee pot cars with annoying mufflers that think it's cool to race in and our of the parking lot...lol..bring on the Harleys!!!!!!
