Anyone that upgraded just wondering if the speed is better and worth the extra cost plus setup fee of 100.00?

We got upgraded month or 2 ago. We didn't get charged anything. Nothing changes unless you move to an LTE plan. Depending what package you have now, they will be faster with a higher data limit. There base package is 6mbps and 60gb data for $60. You can keep old package if you want though.

Thank you for your response. My post is for anyone that upgraded to the LTD package it is 100.00 to upgrade plus a little more for the package. Just wondering if it is faster.

I don't know if it makes a difference that we're in a valley but netflix runs a lot smoother! Plus the extra 20GB per month is awesome! Very happy with the new upgrade

I think it's well worth the $100. But I wish they would do away with data limitations. It gets really expensise.

We just switch to the LTE service. We just got netset last June they were gonna charge 100 bucks when I said I paid the 100 less then a year ago the fee was waived.

I already had the new radio, so all they had to do was remote into my radio and change settings. Said the $100 was for monitoring, no deals for me. Since then most nights I get 0.7 Mbps down if I'm lucky, I've heard from the wife repeatedly she thinks it's worse than before we upgraded. Just came back from Mexico, and all I can say is that I miss the crappy Mexican resort internet because it's better than what I have here. Pay for 12 get less than 1. It's nice to hear some folks are getting what they pay for, wish I was in your boat.

no additional charges, took the cheapest package, tired of paying for service we never got. So far there has been no real issues and we monitor our speed daily. If I do not get what they say I will be complaining regularly again. So far glad we switched.

We recently purchased the Netset system and paid for the 7Mbps download on the 4G service and were getting average 3Mbps. We had the free upgrade to LTE when it came out and went for the 6Mbps package to see how it was and my first test came back at 6.32 so I am averaging double the speed for $25 less. We don't use a huge amount so I am thinking the 60GB will be enough for us, but we can always move up to the 12Mbps & 120GB if we need to, for now we are happy with what we have.

We are all getting hosed no matter where we go in Canada. A friend of mine in the Netherlands pays 40 euros a month (Currently $59.78 CAD) for 140GBps Down and 75GBps up. And that's with no data caps either.

I doubt that. Maybe Mbps, not Gbps. Providing internet is always more expensive in a sparesely populated area like the prairies.

hey we have had this new lte for 2 weeks  
i have had to call and email them about slow speeds five times. we are paying for 12 and getting 2 mbps.  
 
they are very difficult to deal with. We have been with them for three years hanging on for this "new great" lte and well it has not been what they have promised. they are making more promises now and giving us a free month but so far not worth even the free upgrade...  
 
they always seem to have an issue of our service having to be moved from tower to tower. not sure why they have to wait for us to call and complain.  
Wait times on the phone are often too long for us 20 mins plus and we quit and end up being upset.  
 
if this new service doesnt get better within the week we are considering changing to RF now - two of our neighbours have and have no issues.  
 
(we run netflix, use the internet to surf/post and do reseach- require upload of 2 mpbs and 5 mbps download- i have a log history on speedtest net that shows they can never constantly deliver.  
 
Your money , your call - just do your research for you exact areas. I hear other people who never have problems. not sure why

Not really. Beanfield in Toronto has 250Mbps up / down for $58 per month. I'm sure there are several comparable ISPs if you live in the right areas in the GTA or GVR.
