I have a vehicle for sale on here and the weirdest thing has happened that I wanted to share.  
I received a text message, all it said was.....  
"Is your vehicle still for sale?" I replied "yes".  
The very next message was "What is your name and address so I can send a certified cheque to you?"  
I was very suspicious so I asked if this person wanted to see the vehicle, know more about the vehicle....no reply  
The next day they again asked for my name and address so they could send a certified chq. I looked up the number to find that it was being routed through Nebraska. I asked why they would want my vehicle if they were from the US. I was told they were local. I talked to the bank and found out that certified cheques from the US can be made out easily but can take up to a year before they go through all the channels and you could end up having to pay the money back to the bank..... BE CAREFUL...This is scam  
If you feel uncomfortable about it...trust your gut!  
I asked the person if they were trying to pull a scam and have not heard from them since.

vehicles sight un-seen, but I usually give them my address so they can bring it to me and I can give them cash for it.  
 
What you are dealing with is a definite scam, as I have had those same kinds of messages when I have listed a vehicle for sale.

I had someone buy a vehicle sight unseen but he showed up with cash to pay for it.

Too good to be true. They probably aren't dickering on the price either. Another tell tale of a scam.  
Cash only.  
 
Certified cheque means nothing. They want you you to deposit it & wait 4-5 clearing days to realize the cheque was worthless & you now are out of a car and you'll never find them as they've moved onto another town.
