Just a reminder that Elm trees are not to be trimmed between April 1 and July 1 to help prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease.  
 
Witnessed some terrible trimming ethics on Saturday from some local boys (not the city) who should've known better. Rips in the bark, improper cuts and Elm trimming out of season. Tsk, tsk.

Yes please call natural resources on this company, many companies work hard to get their tickets and abide by the laws to help protect the community. It's a shame when companies do this and disregard the rules to make a quick dollar. You can also report to conservation. Something needs to be done about this kind of thing. I think I know what company it probably was, younger guys?

Yes please do phone them in. As you may see elm disease is rapid in our city. As a owner of a tree service we really would like people to understand that tree health is very important, not only for the beauty of our city but safety for our public. Elms are actually illegal to trim between March 31 and August 1.It is also illegal to keep it as firewood.  
I have done some investigations and our province has left this job to very very few people to regulate. They can NOT do their job without the public. Take a picture of the action and call in. Thanks

Also doesn't hurt to ask for arborist certification. I know of one company going around claiming to be arborists but actually aren't. Real shame
