    To the young adults who stole my 10 year olds jacket...

    I would like to address the "Young Adults" (I use the term loosely) who stole my 10 year olds jacket off of him and took off with it. I chased you for 5 blocks because I wanted my sons coat back. I would have chased you further, but I am a single mom and I had supper cooking, you are lucky I never caught you. I am on a very low income and saved for almost 6 months to afford that Hurley jacket for him for his birthday last week, as well as the money he had in his pocket. He was off to the toy store to purchase something he was saving for, which is something you probably know nothing about since you stole my sons stuff instead of buying your own. I have a very broken hearted little boy tonight. I am asking if you read this to please return it, his address is written in permanent marker in the inside seam, put it in our yard and no questions will be asked. Parents, if your child comes home with a new baby blue Hurly coat that you didn't buy, please return it as I simply can't afford to buy a new one. I know the perps probably won't read this...but it's a shot in the dark.

    that this happened to your little boy. Life is sure not fair. I also was a single Mom and I know how hard this is on you and your son. I sure wish I had the money to replace it for you. Big hugs to you both

    I know it doesn't fix the situation, but it sounds like your son has something way better than a nice jacket...and that is a Mom who sticks up for her boy and stands with him.  
     
    I remember my Mom going to the neighbors to get my Christmas gift back. I was thankful to have the item again but mostly thankful for the Mom i had compared to the neighbor who didn't seem to care much what her kids did.  
     
    Good job Mom, sorry it happened but keep up the good work! Your son will def see the difference between your morals & theirs.

    Anyone who steals from a little kid needs to be held accountable. Reading this made me really sad for the kid, he must have been very upset. I went through something similar when I was a kid I remember it bothering me for a while  
     
    Anyway, Id be happy to replace the jacket for the boy. Hopefully you bought it in town and its still available. PM me if this would help...

    I have had so many wonderful offers to help! I ordered the jacket online at Sport Check, I looked and they no longer have them on the website. The closest I could find was one from Firefly called Firefly Jonathan 3 in 1 Jacket. It is listed cheaper than the Hurley, and I don't think my son cares about what brand name it is/was, it is listed for $74.99. I can also answer size questions in a private message. Thank you so so much, I never expected this, I just wanted to rant and let those kids know they did wrong! If I knew who the teens were, I would march to their parents, but I don't know the older kids in our neighbourhood. And yes, my son came home terrified and screaming so loud I knew it wasn't a play scream as kids sometime do....

    This post saddened my heart when I first read it,,, & still does....But now I feel very happy that such warm heated people from Brandon are willing to help make this little boy happy again... In the big picture it just goes to show us that there are many people out there who DO NOT KNOW OR CARE HOW TO raise their children..This should never have happened in the first place..People young & old should have RESPECT & MORALS & better judgement to not harm other people... My blessings go out to you & your son....

    Thank you Username_required10! I am letting my on read all of your kid wishes and thoughts when I pick him up at noon for lunch! Everyone has really surprised me with all their kindness and generosity! I hope someday I am in a position to pay this forward in a big way!

    What a horrible thing to experience at such a young age. Hopefully reading this thread and seeing the generosity a lot of people are willing to offer will show him that not everyone like that... There is more good than bad out there, its just hard to see it sometimes Keep your chin up little man!!

    I did. They can't charge anyone because the kids ran and I never caught them. But maybe thy might release a report, I don't know I am not an officer. And I don't appreciate the threats in that pm either. I am clearly NOT who you think I am and I will be letting Adam know about this harassment. shame on you.

    That's sad this happened to you. Just wondering, I order from Sportchek regularly and they do not sell Hurley products there? Curious as to how you got the jacket from there. Not trying to be rude just inquiring.

    You are correct.  
     
    As an employee at the store I can confirm we do NOT sell Hurley online or in the store.

    You might want to scroll up and read. She clearly states she bought it online at sport Chek but that it's no longer listed on the website. I just confirmed with my boss, no Hurley products ever.

    Honest behaviour and this thread would never exist.  
    Bullies are everywhere! Sorry to here that people assume what they would like to believe. That said, as a mother of 4 children it is never easy to watch your child be treated unfairly. Unfortunately it can happen even thou you try to protect them from any harm. This mom looks as though she has done her best in her means. She did not place her ad as a WISH. If she had surly someone would have offered the boy a jacket.  
    Brandonites are generally generous people to those in need and asking for help.  
    This mom is sticking up for a boy who did not deserve to be bullied(no one does)  
    Good on those people for offering to help that boy will never forget the kindness of a stranger. It means more than the act of the bully.
