Wondering what the thoughts or needs are in Brandon for casual help with persons needing assistance. Whether it be to go to appointments, shopping with or for, housecleaning, or just companionship/respite. It would not be through a company but rather a private person with many years of experience?

Well, there are a couple of companies that do this, from my understanding. If a private person was doing this for money, it would need to be registered as a business for tax purposes. If volunteering, I guess it wouldn't need to be. Either way, I would think that a criminal records check, vulnerable persons check, CPR, First Aid, etc would be needed before people would be comfortable using the services.

As mentioned, you will be making income and therefore there are income tax and business number implications. But, it can be worth it if people find you trustworthy and helpful!

you will definitely need to go get all criminal records checks for children, adults and you may need your drivers abstract. I needed all my criminal record checks just to volunteer at Rideau. But a good thing to have anyway.
