Has anyone else noticed how ridiculous the parking is by Riverheights school. The city bylaws/signs are limiting the parking so much!! Many residents have more than one vehicle as there are rental properties/duplex houses and they use street parking also. Now only 1 car can park between each driveway. And they put up no parking signs in certain areas. Where does the city expect people to park? Can't there be rules only during school hours?? This would Allow residents to have evening/overnight parking!! Anyone know where concerns can be made known? The bylaw lady isn't overly easy to talk to!!

your city councillor? Sorry I'm not sure who that is but you could find out from the city's website.  
Must be a pain in the butt with no place to park, especially when parking for overnight.  
Don't be too hard on the bylaw lady, she is only following orders from her sergeant.

Parking around Riverheights school is a mess. Would also be interested in knowing where to voice concerns

Is the parking bad now because on centennial with that breakage in the road ? And year after year all they do for most of the summer is put no parking signs around it

just park a couple blocks away and walk from there . Everyone wants to park out front of the school and then go in . Maybe people should use it as a drop off zone and park a little further away if they are going in to the school.

I think the whole area in front of the school should be used as a drop off/pick up zone ONLY. To many vehicles are parked there far to long. You go at lunch to pick up and if you want to park right in front of the school you need to be there by 12:30 at least. After school is worse. If your not there by 3:15 good luck. There is very rarely anyone waiting in their vehicles and no one outside so everyone gets there way to early parks their go and goes into the school to wait. If your going into the school go park on a side street and leave the front of the school open for a "quick" pick up

RIverheights school parking is crazy. Besides residents needing to park the school is a busy one with many busses and even city busses. Also high numbers, over capacity. High volumes in the younger grades so more parents needing to be at the school. Many safety issues withh kids being dropped off in the middle of te road. Seems to be only school without the little crossing, school zone remindr sign too as some speed by even city busses going clearly over 30. Ageed, people also need to learn how to be considerate in their parking....length and also how they park ...taking up extra spaces. One issue that is frustrating is many staff ( teachers and EAs) use the street to park when they have a lot and an extra was made further back to accomodate more parking. You can talk to the principal but nothiing seems to change.

Yes there is a newer extra lot!! As a parent at the school everyday many times with other parents there as well we all talk and all know excatly with EAs and teachers use the street as they walk by. Just a guess but maybe easier to get out of school as the lot is busy....not sure there is door access via the lots.
