What is this (along the riverbank)?

I was out walking my dog along the river bank and stumbled across a little shelter / small settlement almost. I'm not even really sure what you'd call it.. It's located just off of first street in behind where the soccer fields are. I was just wondering if anyone knew what this was?

That's sort of what I was leaning toward. Just wasn't sure. It's quite the set up!

There is a man who lives out there. I have heard the information second hand but it's by choice/living off "the grid" is a version of the story I heard.

Are you talking about the couple of Tipi''s beside the old soccer fields to the northeast?

If so that guy has been living there for years. It would be interesting to hear what his story is and why he ended up there.

He does have quite the set up out there. He does enjoy living off the grid, however its not a sweet a story as you'd like to believe. Its a good way to not have to pay alimony/child support if you have no income, and with no income that is all you can afford. It is more of a spitefull situation then anything....

I was told back a couple years ago that his wife had left him and took everything...All he had was the clothes on his back.....and nothing else...I have spoke to him a couple of times...he is a really nice old guy...and yes he does have a very nice set up for someone who had nothing at at....he lives off the land and fishes in the summer time for food...every thing he has out here was given to him by kind people wanting to help back in the day....
