I was driving west on Vic ave half an hour ago when I noticed an older lady in a wheelchair waiting to cross the street. I stopped far back from the intersection for her to cross. It was apparent after she started out that she was struggling to get across, and I wanted to help but didn't know what the protocol was if I wanted to leave my vehicle in the street and run to push her across. As I was thinking about this, 2 Hydro trucks came down the opposite side of the street. The man in the half ton pulled over, put on his blinking work light and ran out to help her across. His co worker in a larger work truck backed up, put on his lights and made sure no one could get around them while this woman was helped to the other side. Thank you to these men for their great act of kindness!

Hubby worked for Hydro for years. I could tell you a lot of similar stories !

Does raise a great question. There has been a few times over the past couple of years I wondered the same thing. Especially when it has snowed heavy and you see someone struggling to get through with a stroller or chair or whatnot. I wanted to stop and help, but you never know if you could get a ticket for leaving your vehicle or not.  
 
I have pulled over into a parking lane to help a lady with her chair get unstuck, but never stopped on a street or at a light.

I don't know a soul employed by Manitoba Hydro but that is an example of what they are like<: I work in the trucking industry and have watched these crews work in new developments. You would never think that these were crown corporation employees. They are hard working and all seem to know their roll.Good Job
