Important thing at that age was finding playgrounds that limit the amount of high openings and chance for bad falls. Find the old wooden one behind Durum is good from that perspective... And the hill's fun for a run! Inevitable you'll wander over to the new playground a little further down the field. Lots of quality lower stuff there (our guy loves the mini excavator) but there are a few high points to watch out for.
Also had decent luck at the one next to the dog park off of Park Ave.
You'll see quite a few younger kids at the smaller playground off Magnolia... Think they call it Jacobson Park?
