and glad you were safe in locked vehicle!! I guess people should also be careful with rolled down windows, ugh, bloody criminals!

Same thing happened to me at the corner of 6th and Rosser around 10:00 p.m. a few months ago.  
 
I almost ran the red light I was waiting at cause the guy was so persistent and intimidating grabbing at my passenger door handle trying to enter my vehicle. He even had the nerve to move in front of my vehicle to try stop me. At the green with him standing in front of my vehicle I motioned for him to move and when he didn't I inched forward hammering on my horn and he moved out of the way. Then he had the audacity to give ME the finger as I drove away!  
 
I've never felt fear like that in all of my almost 40 years of living in this community.

Not sure if this is the same guy or not, but my daughter and her friend were out riding their bikes in the JR Reid area and a guy with the same description (male dressed in all black with hoodie up over his head and shielding his face) started following them. My husband went out looking but couldn't see him.  
 
Kids need to beware of this guy also.  
 
We never called the police, but hopefully someone has now.  
If we see him again I will be calling the police.

Scary stuff. Will have to warn my family about this guy. Makes me more hesitant to go on late night walks, something which I'm sometimes in the mood for.

Had a friend in Winnipeg have this happen to him except his window was down. Idiot reached in and was rewarded with a trapped arm. And was dragged for awhile. Wish my friend had gotten off totally scott free but when criminals have more rights than victims something needs to happen. Either way maybe trap them call the cops, put the four ways on and see what happens.

Honestly if he was standing in front of me with a green light after he tried car jacking me I would have knocked him over with my truck. Not run him over (that's assult with a vehicle)but I would have made it very clear I would not be putting up with that crap. If the light is green technically he's j walking and at fault...  
And if they reach in, well I always have a lanyard with extra keys in my cup holder that sting quite nicely when swung and make contact with the face also, elbows in tight spaces make really useful self defence mechanisms.  
I work hard for my stuff not about to let it go without a fight.

That is another reason to invest in a dash cam.  
You would defenetely have a very good des:cription of the person and his actions.

Even if you don't have time to get the photo app up they don't know that but every time I grab & point my cel phone for a photo the situation changes & the culprit walks or runs away. They think they are annonomys until a camera is in their face. You may not get their photo but you'll be safer.  
Its like a invisible taser to criminals. Now that would be great app for my girls!!! Tasercam !!

Last summer, in the back alley in the 800 block of 15th - I was outside when it was getting dark outside - and I noticed a person wearing a black tight fitting cat suit, trying the door handles of the cars parked near our place - this person posed in an odd stance, to mimic a tree - and it took me a while to notice it was actually someone dressed in a black latex cat suit - including a tight hood, with ears and had a long tail he was holding wrapped around him to use to pose in odd poses to hide in the shadows - when I saw him, and kept staring at him, he tried to approach me by shaking his arms out in front of him, while lunge walking towards me - trying to scare me. What a frightening, surprising situation that was to find in the back alley - and him being in all black, made it really easy for him to shape himself into a tree like stance, or shadow - it really freaked me out.  
 
So yeah, creepers are out there - so be on the look out - especially once it starts getting dark outside.
