I was looking into the office admin program at ACC and was looking for any feedback on the course. I'm concerned about my weak math skills!! I would also like to take it by distance, any feedback would be appreciated.

I'm currently taking the business administration by distance and it's the best decision I've made! I may not go at the same speed as I would if I was in class doing it but it allows me to work a full time job and complete my schooling. The first year of the business admin program is actually the office admin which you are looking into: if taking the course at ACC in class, it takes one year. I'm just completing the office admin certificate and it's taken me 22 months going at my own speed and choosing my course load every 4 months, I will be continuing on for my diploma in hopes more of the required courses will be offered by distance

Office admin and business admin are not that different with regards to courses. Financial accounting 1 and 2 course at acc is not really a "math" skill. But more process. Imo I think the business admin approach is more of an asset to take if u r going to take the two years anyhow. And then in the future the bridging of a degree is more of an option if you wished to further your careers or education. I have seen both sides of this from students and have watched the dean of business at acc give a presentation on the differences and business admin students are more likely to make more money and have a broader spectrum of jobs than legal or medical. Not saying office admin is not a good program by any means nor am I putting down anyone's career choices- but if you are not specifically wanting to be a legal or medical receptionist, I would suggest business admin!

I also took the Office Admin Program and it was an amazing course!! I highly recommend it for anyone. I also struggled with math throughout high school and was dreading the thought of having to do a math course. What they did was used a different approach to teaching it then I had in high school and started right from square one. What was truly neat about it was for the first time in my life, everything in I learned in high school finally "clicked" in my head and I finally understood math. I didn''t take the course through distance but I would imagine it would be very similar and all of instructors I worked with were amazing. Good luck!!

I took office a few years ago and it was amazing! I loved every second, and it was the best time in my life! If you can, doing it in class was a great experience however I get that some people cannot swing that. I  
Don't regret taking office however one of my pet peeves is that office and business are quite similar however business is recognized much more and you have a lot more opportunities with business VS office ....
