I'm wanting to hike The Devil's Punch Bowl and am wondering how long the trail is and if it's clearly marked. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any info,

I have read on. Ther Internet it's easier to get to the Devils punch bowl from the river the trail is very short. Can anyone confirm this and confirm if there is actually a trail from the river

Yes it's clearly marked. Stop at the park office (now way up on the hill, inside the campground) for a map. They are often out at the trail entrance, plus you will need a provincial park pass.

I used to work out there many years ago and have never heard of a trail by the river. Not saying that there isn't, but it not a marked/maintained trail. Maybe what the meant is if you look on the map to use the trail lower on the map. The other takes you through the sand dunes, this one doesn't.  
 
Another option is there is a covered wagon ride you can take. Though it does not stop very long. You can look but not walk down to the punch bowl.

There isn't a trail that runs along the river but there is a trail that comes up from the river if you had been canoeing or boating down the river some how. I guess there was at one time a steam boat that took passengers around according to the sign when you get there. It is a very short walk from edge of river.

It was less than an hour walk from the parking area, maybe around 40 minutes? It wasn't worth the walk IMO, just a weirdly colored pond. The rest of the Spirit Sands was more interesting to us.
