does realise that many of the stores that you want are decided by their management for where they setup shop. They research cities and have certain criteria for where they setup stores. Even many franchised stores have criteria that must be followed before allowing a store to be setup.

A large scale manufacturing of tech based company that brings in higher paying skilled jobs. Need something that does something other than rack up a credit card

believe she's trying to point out where all these corporations are from- i.e. they're not local.  
 
Also does no one in this thread remeber that we has a JYSK at one point- it failed miserably & was only open a few months.

Sorry to burst your bubble. But Aeropostale went bankrupt Canada a few months ago.

What I would like to see is locally owned businesses structured for our market, not more inetrnationally owned chains...  
 
1 - I would love to see a locally owned furniture stpore expand to the decor and linen market (Think Bed Bath and Beyond but smaller) - there is a demand for a store like this but the market isn't large enough for a whole box retailer dedicated to it so a division of a complimentary store would probably work (Think Kullbergs)  
 
2 - On my ultimate wish list I would love to see an indoor waterpark facility (if anyone is working on this I would love to help)  
 
3 - Small boutique clothing stores. Another venture I would love to help start up and support - I would do it myself but retail is just not my thing lol

A Jysk Store has never been located in Brandon. You must be thinking of something else.

I agree with everyone who has suggested a Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Home Outfitters. That's the main category of store I really feel lacking here.

But Aeropostale has gone the way of the dodo.....(along with PacSun and one other millennial based store I cannot recall right now around the same time)  
 
What is on my wish list:  
 
1) Costco (with a gas bar)  
 
2) Starbucks on the other side of town (or I would also accept a Second Cup)  
 
3) Anything housewares (BB&B, HB Home, etc)

Home sense and Costco.. I personally have no idea as to why people shop at old navy. The clothes are junk and fall apart after the first wash.

I have to agree with you. Manufacturing jobs would shore up the economy in Brandon, spread wealth and create opportunity for people to start up their own truly unique Canadian Business. A Costco and a Cabela's would be great also!

There are no clothing stores for tweens/teens in Brandon. I'm finding I'm ordering online for the majority of clothing items my daughter needs.

I've noticed that Brandon has a lot of low cost/second hand stores (Value Village/Dollar Store/Dollar Tree/Giant Tiger...etc). What Brandon REALLY needs is some low cost retail. Places like Urban Planet. Brandon scales pretty low on the income level. I really don't think a place like Costco would do very well...I know I'm probably in the minority with that line of thinking. What I'd really like to see is a year-round flea market, with multiple vendors. When I go to Winnipeg I generally go to the flea market, it's a lot of fun to check out the antiques and collectibles some people have there.

Hobby Lobby top of my list !  
 
Home Sense - have only ever been to the one at Langford on Vancouver Island...loved it.

I wish there was a forever 21 instead of a Maurice's for styles in the tween/ young adult clothing that reaches plus sizes

A lot of good suggestion here that I agree with.  
 
But one restaurant I wouldn't mind seeing come to Brandon or even Winnipeg is Ruby Tuesday. But to my knowledge there are no Ruby Tuesday`s in Canada and I highly doubt Brandon is on the list of potential Canadian locations to open a restaurant. If there even is one.

3) a good speed shop for sleds, cars, etc!!

how about 1, an amusement park of sorts.  
2, a new stripper bar. 3 a legal marijuana dispensary.

HMV would be nice, we don''''t got a good place to buy movie collections or CDs, ya we could go to best buy or Walmart but I can''t buy older selections, unless you trek to Winnipeg.  
We also need more clothing stores for men, alternative clothing for both genders( times be changing people), toys r us is greatly needed, we have a short section for are kids.  
We need more businesses for Brandon since are economy and opportunities are lacking greatly.  
We don't even get concerts anymore at the Keystone.
