Lol...I totally get that! Yep...moms (and some dads...I won't forget you) are super fortunate if they get 2 hours of sleep straight at any time. For one of the kids, I didn't get a full nights sleep but for 5 nights in a seven year stretch. Multiply that with many kids and you are looking at an even longer stretch. Brain fog is a normal way of life.
You get up the next morning and still have to go on with your day. It is called life.
Richard, I have no idea what happened, but it sounds pretty traumatic for that guy. I might take the time to see if I could help (be a listening ear) the next day. Sometimes that can build a friendship or at least foster better communication between neighbors. Been there, done that (it wasn't easy to approach the subject)...and it was a late night event that triggered that at that time too. It certainly made both of us feel better.
I would encourage you to do the same once you have a cool head. You never know what a positive difference you can make in someone's life.
