I was walking along the dike road yesterday and saw much of Eleanor Kidd Gardens being torn apart. I've also noticed that the trees opposite the Gardens have been removed. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

I heard they are going to rebuild it I believe

Dike work

A private contractor hired by the city is doing dike work. That why the trees south of the dike were removed. The same contractor was also awarded a separate contract to rebuilt the park.

Its being dismantled and what can be saved is being transferred across the river to the Discover Centre. Not sure exactly where. With the current strategy to work with the river instead of trying to control it, it was decided that the present location isn't feasible due to flooding.

Continue the walking path?

walking thru the Discovery Centre approaching 18th, as you walk Northbound the path stops and you are met with a hill. I hope in the new rebuild they find a way to continue the walking path.
