Ladies, why are you shopping in your pj?  
Running about doing last minute Christmas shopping - every other stores I see a woman shopping with these on. I don't, growing up you didn't leave you bedroom without getting dressed .  
So ladies why?

I work full-time while going to university for my nursing degree while raising a young child so I'm going to wear whatever I want (and is the most comfortable) with what little spare time I have

Why are you so bothered by it? Some people wear jeans, some wear slacks, some wear yoga pants, some wear PJ pants. If they are not breaking a dress code, why does it matter? Why is what you wear the 'right' thing and what someone else chooses to wear the 'wrong' thing?

Bahahahahaha......Only ladies? Hell I am a guy and when I get home I like to get comfy and I put on my pj pants. If my wife needs something from the store I have no problem slipping on my crocs and heading to the store just like that. Or if making breakfast on the weekend and I need something I go just as is. I don't go to the store to impress anyone. Is there a certain dress code for shopping? Heck as long as you have clothes on I'm happy.

I wear what I own: it's not much considering my wardrobe is scrub wear, workout wear, PJ wear. I should be on that TLC Show "What Not To Wear"! My excuse is I prefer to pay my bills and mortgage before I buy myself new or used clothes. I put my family's needs/wants before myself. I am that lady that owns one pair of jeans, couple plain t-shirts and a few hoodies. Please if you see me nominate me for a makeover!!

Eventhough I do think you look like a slob, I get it that it sometimes happens. Like when you are sick with a cold and just run out for some medicine. It is the weekend and you are about to enjoy your morning coffee and realize you are out of cream. And then there is the people that wear leggings as pants. Some can be very thin. I am sorry but I don't want to see every single bump. Leggings are meant to be worn with a longer top or dress. Looks gross no matter what size you are!! But then again if it is comfy and you are running to the store for your medicine, cream for coffee etc., then I guess I could understand.

Why does it matter? Should they be dressing up to impress you?

I could give two poops about who thinks I'm a slob, or is not impressed with what I'm wearing. I'll wear whatever I please, I'm not out to impress you. Your opinion of my wardrobe choices mean nothing to me. As long as I'm covered, and not breaking any laws, im good with wearing anything. Whether that be pj's, leggings, slippers, etc. how does what I'm wearing effect your life? It doesn't. Avert your eyes and continue on with your day. You have no idea what is going on in their life and it's not hurting anyone.  
Everybody needs to stop being so judgemental with other people and focus on their own life.

Regardless, as long as you are dressed it doesn't matter. I myself wear plaid or solid coloured pj bottoms, I don't see the patterns being any different than the 70's. Even if I'm wearing my PJ's I'm washed, showed etc, and I'm wearing my hoodie and scarf...think I look pretty good myself. Certainly far from slovenly  
 
If I'm happy and feeling good, that's all that's important in regards to such a silly issue.

I agree. But for men and the ladies, not just ladies. Doesn't take much time to toss on a pair of jeans. You don't have to put on your Sunday best to go to the mall, but have some respect for yourself. What if you ran into a potential career opportunity, but lost out because you appeared to have a complete lack of motivation due to the fact your wearing Pj's at 3pm. Dress for success, you never know who you will run into.  
 
Is the world really becoming to lazy to actually get dressed before leaving the house?  
 
Clothes are expensive argument: Have you looked at Walmart? Giant Tiger? Superstore? You can get very nice clothes at extremely affordable prices. This comes from someone who is buried in bills, has a young child in daycare, and living on an extremely tight budget with little to NO money left at the end of the month for clothes. I make my clothes last and get new clothes maybe once a year. But I still put on an actual pair of pants before leaving my house.

If the attitude that you want to display to everybody is that "I don't care", then wearing pj's to go shopping does just that! Congratulations, you're a success!

Do I "dress up" to go shopping? No, I wear jeans. But I don't wear jeans to bed, and I don't wear pj's shopping.

It matters not how they smell-they go to work stinking like BO or dirty unwashed clothing (office worker, not manual labour job)...hair in a snarl. Some have said they shower and put on clean pj's before they go out shopping. There goes the "convenience" argument. if you shower and change it is just as easy to pull on jeans or pants as it is pajamas.

So to you it appears lazy and that they don't care about themselves, but not everyone cares that's what you think. Think that stuff all you want, but in essence it's not your problem. So think it, and move on with your day. Lots of people wear sweatpants to bed and out in public. You just don't know who, because they aren't necessarily splashy patterns like pj pants. But both are equally warm and comfy. Not everyone wears jeans.  
 
And just because one day you see someone out in Jammie's, with messy hair buns or whatever, doesn't mean they do that all the time. I've maybe worn pajama pants to the grocery store 3 times ever, and the gas station maybe 5 times in my life. So it definitely doesn't happen all the time.  
And if I'm out shopping, I'm thinking about getting what I need and getting out. No need to "dress for success" while shopping for me. If someone wants to doll right up, giver. But don't judge those that don't. You don't know who's just had a round of chemo and needed some supplies, or just buried a loved one, or has super sick baby at home and hasn't slept in days....  
If it doesn't pertain to you let people live their own lives.

i saw two ladies in PJ pants out and about and man they looked cold!, i did think to myself that it was weird but still said a hello to the very nice ladies and moved on with my day because.... who really cares lol never thought about it again until this thread :D

It''s not about what decade you were born in, it''s about having some self-respect. And there''s a lot of people who don''t, hence them wearing baggy, ugly pyjamas in public!!  
 
And it''s obvious that pyjama-wearers don''t care what others think about how they look! And no we shouldn''t have to dress up to go our to get our groceries, but come on, really??

Why should I care how others think I look? Should I also make sure my car is always clean, too? I should probably get a BMW too so nobody thinks I'm poor and unsuccessful.  
 
I'm going shopping, not for a job interview.

Do yourself a favour and go to "People of Walmart" and be thankful most of those people live in the US. ;)

If people want to wear "comfy" clothes when shopping, who cares? It's not a formal event that requires a shirt and tie. There is FAR more in life that should worry you than what other people prefer to wear.... unless they are accompanying you.

It means proud of who you are, even with the mistakes you made in the past. It means looking yourself in the mirror and thinking "This guy has his shit straight." While you reflect on your past life, you should smile and think "man I''m awesome." It means not using alcohol, drugs or violence to solve problems. To overcome and oppress those who bring you down. Whatever hurts you only makes you stronger. It''s to think that you are a good person, but not to the point of arrogance or narcissism. You don''t have to be the smartest kid in your class,you don''t have to make a million dollars a year and you don''t have to be popular to have self esteem and self respect.  
 
 
Having some self respect? Hell see ya in my pj''s some day. I am totally proud of who I am. I have walked a path that I never want to walk again so I think I have earned the right to go out in pj''s if I want.  
 
What is funny is how people are judging those that go out in public in pj''s. Let me get this straight.....they have self respect issues? I guess if you are part of the sheep society.  
 
Hmmmm.....they are willing to do things beyond the norm. They are not afraid to take risks. They are not afraid of offending anyone. They are strong willed to not be influenced by others. They are not put down by the opinions of others. Hmmmm.....what else. Let me ask this...what is really stopping you from wearing pj''s out? Is it society says so? Fear of what others would think? Don''t have the balls? Not enough confidence in yourself?

Just in case you are, perhaps throwing on a pair of slacks will help.

But right after having babies I live in baggy sweats or pj pants... I also prefer seeing someone wear pj pants over the people that wear shorts that shows bum cheeks.

Maybe the people who judge strangers based on their clothing choices are the ones having trouble finding decent partners.

Just addressing dome of these "arguments." I do clean up before going out in my pj bottoms...they're comfortable and honestly just as warm. My legs freeze in anything but ski pants, including jeans!  
 
Anyhow, until you present me with an official Canadian fashion police badge...I'm wearing what is nice, comfy, fun, and appropriate (ie., everything is covered, lol)
