This is a wake up call. Not all terrorists are Muslims. Terrorisim doesn't descriminate. It is not a religion. We can not fix this by banning certain groups of people from our countries.

I remember the pigs head incident, but I don't remember seeing a picture of it at the time, I had always assumed someone simply dropped off a severed head and it was leaking blood all over the place but that picture shows a nicely gift wrapped head including a nice card, canadians are nothing if not polite even if they are trying to be hateful :p

It does not say the shooters were immigrants. It is even possible that one is from Quebec.  
 
You can injure yourself and others by jumping to conclusions.

Chrisanddave banning immigrants does nothing to stop terrorism. Creating security doesn't mean keeping good people out of this country. Your comment is totally irrelevant to this topic, except that you display the ignorance that encourages stupid ideas like banning refugees.

i would guess that those arrested will claim allegiance to some terror organization. my opinion is that our leadership is negligent in their job to provide national security. perhaps new avenues to fulfill that responsibility should be pursued.

OK... so according to the latest reports, there was only ONE shooter. The second man detained was determined to be a witness. The lone shooter was a Quebecois, not an immigrant or a refugee or a Muslim.  
 
Alexandre Bissonnette is the lone shooting suspect. There's lots of new links out there for you to find... I'm just too lazy this morning to find them for you.  
 
If this was an act of terrorism, then it is perpetrated by right-wing propaganda. There is information out there about Bissonnette's social media where he "likes" Trump and has made right-wing and anti-women/immigrant posts. But that's all hearsay at the moment.

This guy absolutely is a terrorist- "a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims"

What qualifies someone as a terrorist? Because he was a local Quebec resident he can't be a terrorist? Does he have to be a Muslim to be a terrorist? Does he have to be an immigrant or a refugee to be a terrorist?  
 
I'm just curious how you came to the conclusion that this guy isn't a terrorist?

Does it state in any report his religious beliefs?

He was working alone, not in a group as far as stated, he did not have a political agenda that was stated and MOST people equate terrorists with Muslims.  
 
I assume he is Christian because he wasn''''t labelled "Muslim, Buddhist, or other..... maybe he is agnostic.... but I read one news article that stated he was Christian

In order to be considered a terrorist you need to be part of a group? An individual can't be a terrorist?  
 
I agree most people do equate (identify) terrorists with Muslims and that is something that is GROSSLY misinterpreted mainly by the media.

I think you misunderstand my comments and my original post. It is my opinion and FACT that terrorism is not defined by religion, race or ethnicity. A terrorist can come from any walk of life and that's the point I was getting at.  
 
You can never be happy that a situation like this happens but i actually breathed a sigh of relief when I heard it was a local, domestic non muSlim who committed this heinous crime.  
 
You may also note it is getting nowhere near the media coverge it would get if it was a Christian or Catholic Church shot up by a man or men with Muslims/Arab names.

Do they label mass shooters in the States terrorists?? No... why do you insist on this pointless argument?

Some of them should be. Some of them are just mentally i'll people who should never have had access to guns (that's a different argument)  
 
Your original post just seemed very narrow minded and I wanted clarification on some of the things you said.

Funny that Trudy would say this was an attack, Yet when two police officers were killed in Quebec and the parliament was attach this was a case of someone who was sick. Because this was a white guy on muslims it is an attack, I find this a little odd. People who kill cops are sick, white people shots up Muslim and it is an attach. I feel for the families and by no way condone this. But I am tired of political correctness in this country. This was one screwed up guy who shot and killed multiple people. He should be tried and sent to jail for life not just 25yrs, Life should mean life.

Politically though, I truly believe that Trudy and his admirers would like to call this a "terrorist act" so they can point to the masses ans say, "see, terrorist are white people too and not just muslims". I agree with that statement in that any human race/religion can tale up a terrorist cause. However, the vast majority of terrorist activities around the world are in the name of Allah. Jihadists are waging war on the "infidels", that's reality. This particular Mosque attack was not politicaly motivated and therefore was not a "terrorist act" as much as some would like to believe. This was a "hate crime", pure and simple, nothing more, nothing less! See definitions in links below if confused between terror activities and hate crimes.

Agree that it's unacceptable. However, I would argue that it matters what type of crime this was. Trudeau wants this titled a "terrorist act" for political reasons, even though it really was a "hate crime". No political motivation for this crime. Fits the definition of "hate crime" perfectly, but that's an inconvenience for our PM. Terrible tragedy and yes when this goes to court the guilty party should receive the "death" penalty in my opinion. The victims families will eventually need closure and a life sentence for a 27 year old means that he's young enough that he'll be in the news again in 25 years requesting parole and that news will re-open the hurt and sorrow of the victims families. That's not justice!

I wonder if it had anything to do with one being named "MOHAMMED"  
 
Very, VERY suspicious reporting going on. Immediate conclusions drawn by CBC before story could even break, with no public statement by police in early hours. It makes no sense to thinking people.

In response to a previous post, the politically correct types like to refer to the two terrorist attacks that occurred in Canada a couple of years ago as being carried out by mentally ill individuals. Well, maybe they were mentally ill. I suppose you could make the argument that all terrorists are mentally ill or even that all religious fanatics are mentally ill. I won't, but some people will. That doesn't change the fact that those two attacks were inspired by ISIS propaganda. ISIS had told their supporters to kill police officers by any means possible, including driving over them. This was even reported by the mainstream media, just in case someone wants to claim it as "fake news". Yep, even the alphabet networks reported that ISIS was trying to inspire homegrown wannabes to commit terrorist acts. ISIS was successful.  
 
One thing that I am concerned about now and all freedom loving Canadians should be concerned about too, will be the almost certain kneejerk reaction by politicians to pass more restrictive laws against free speech, since this attack will be deemed a hate crime when it becomes convenient to do so. It's just silly to call it a terrorist act, since there is no evidence that any organization told him or inspired him to carry out the attack. If there is such a domestic terror group operating in Canada then name it. If you can't name it then don't make the claim. The other thing that will no doubt come of this will be the seizing of the opportunity by special interest groups to call for either a total ban on guns or extremely restrictive gun laws. Yes, gun owners should expect, at the very least, to see a campaign by the anti-gun lobby, like happened after Marc Lepine shot the women at Ecole Polytechnique in 1989. Expect some attempt at resurrecting Bill C-68 or worse and, as I already said, another attempt at further restricting free speech in this country. Those of us who care about such things will have to be on guard to make sure that doesn't happen.  
 
The only thing that guys like him accomplish when they commit senseless acts of violence like this is to give all of the politically correct types the ammunition they need to demand the passing of more legislation.

Something seems fishy to me with all of this.  
First it was reported it was gunmen-plural that did the shooting. And this was only reported because that's what witnesses said.  
Then one of the guys turns himself in and he tells 911 he is armed and this guy turns out to be the Muslim.  
Then all of the sudden it's a lone white guy who likes Trump.  
Even though witnesses that were there said it was at least two people.  
I don't trust anything the MSM says.
