There are several spots in Brandon where there were large snow mounds left on center islands.  
Magnolia Drive is one such street.  
It is very dangerous for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic and we have lots of kids walking in the area.  
Pedestrian crossing Magnolia appears suddenly from behind the snow walls that is higher than my head in spots.  
It is almost impossible to turn left onto Magnolia or off Magnolia when in a vehicle that sits slightly lower to the ground, you have to cross the first lane and then very carefully inch forward around the turn.  
Unfortunately cars and buses drive extremely fast down Magnolia too, making this even scarier.  
I would greatly appreciate it if town can consider taking some snow just of the tips of the center islands at crossings, that would make it much safer to do left turns on and off the street and ensure that we will not loose a kid that can not see around a snow wall twice their height.  
Several requests has been left on the Streets and Roads answering machine but nobody got back to me.

All the side streets. Why are they not scraping them. All this slush is going to freeze up and make them not drivable.

These mounds of snow that block the view of traffic are terrible. Finally Richmond has been cleared. I know two people that had accidents due to these mounds of snow and lack of visibility. They now both have written off vehicles and the inconvenience of dealing with MPI-which is another issue. Their turnaround time for claims is so long-it really is unacceptable for the insurance premiums we pay.

Only one of the complaints I have noted has been addressed - the disaster that was 10th St.  
 
There are some very dangerous high piles out in the East end too - near the EE playground - I have a small SUV and these piles on corners are not only higher than I am so I have to go out into the street to see around them, but I have called in my concerns that the area children don't seem to have any parental guidance and are using them as sledding hills. Kids sliding INTO STREETS and they will not address them.  
 
Someone is going to be killed, either the kids who are playing on these piles or the pedestrians that are walking down the streets because there are no sidewalks.  
 
Very disappointing - the first couple of days they were great out of the gate to start the clean up. Since then it seems like everyone is on half time.

You can't seriously expect the City, especially one the size of Brandon, to clear each and every side street and lane...how much overtime are the taxpayers willing to pay for?

I was in Winnipeg just last Wednesday and they were removing the high snow from the medians and boulevards of PORTAGE AVENUE...not exactly a "side street" And to add to that, they were doing it over the lunch rush hour.

live on magnolia I actually stop before making my turn because if I can't see for sure if a vehicle is coming then they not see me either. I find not the biggest concern I know there are lots of snow and so I drive around the corner carefully I look for vehicles and pedestrians

that all side streets and back lanes have been cleared after that huge Christmas Day snow storm. Anybody know any different? Most back lanes have garbage/recycling bins so plowing the lanes is a must.

So there are No Parking signs all along Magnolia!!!!  
I think the snow walls are coming down!!!!

(And just for anybody that posted above…these snow walls is what they have scraped out of the road onto the narrow center island on the 27th of December and subsequently, no snow has ever been removed, just piled up, so you can imagine how high they are.  
We are lucky to have a very well ploughed street because it is a bus route so I suspect the city sees it as important enough to keep clear. Unfortunately it allows people to drive even faster down this street even in this blind conditions.  
I hate the busses but they are a necessity and a green option so I will not complain about them.  
Where it comes to ruts I am negotiating rutty streets daily too and dislike the experience and feel sorry for my vehicle but if you slow down enough they are only an inconvenience.  
Not being able to safely cross a street because you are blind is another story.)  
 
Anyway, I suspect tomorrow am we will be able to see when making turns and I am super thankful for that.

Side streets in the East end are pretty rough they are rutted and could use a good plow put out signs so there are no big piles left on the street it rattles your vehicle pretty bad maybe instead of taking several days removing snow off Victoria east and 26th Street during the day they could have done it in one shot during the evening or overnight when there is no traffic like they used too

Nice to see the City removing snow from Queen's Crescent this morning while lots of streets remain rutted and ice covered this Crescent is not a bus route does not have parking meters so why is it so important for it to be cleaned in an article in the Sun last week the Manager of Public works for the City talked of the brown sugar crystallizing snow causing dangerous ruts and the city was working to clear out trouble areas as quick as possible so shouldn't these streets be plowed before snow is removed residential streets if the snow on Queen's Crescent is not a hazard it should be left to melt
