I can say this much. I was vaccinated as a child and always up to date on my vaccines. Believe it or not, some people's bodies don't take to the vaccine or they can wear out over time.
It wasn't until I went for a maternity physical and my doctor did a bunch of lab work that it was discovered I have no antibodies to mumps and unfortunately for me I can't even go get a booster because of the fact I am pregnant.
So to anyone worried about vaccines they received as a child and whether or not you are still protected, you can discuss it with your doctor and they can run some lab work to check to see what you have and or don't have antibodies too. You can also go down to the public health clinic in the town centre and request immunization records. Keep in mind though, if you were born prior to a certain year they never kept those types of records.
