what is your definition of affordable?

Some advertising may be inexpensive, but how many people are you reaching, and is it your target audience?
Facebook ads are affordable and reach a large range of people. Radio ads can be very effective as well.
Depends on your product/service that your are offering.
I'd look at your potential clientele's age range, likely habits (do they go to hockey games, do they frequently sit in a coffee shop, etc).
