Question about moving to another province. How much it cost?

We are planning to move to BC to join my family. Does anyone has an idea on how much mover cost? From MB to BC? There's no big furnitures or major appliance: only few boxes of clothes and books for university. Any estimates or recommendations? Thank you in advance!

Well besides hotels, gas, food, you would probably be looking at around $300-$500 if not driving a big truck or something. If it is only a few boxes would they not fit into a vehicle? If they are small it may be more cost effective to Greyhound them?

Is there a way that we can possibly sent the boxes to BC? Since we're planning to board the plane going to BC.

Greyhound is useful for shipping BUT get the extra insurance on your boxes. They charge by the weight I believe. If you call or go online they can help with an estimate if you have an idea on the weight and amount of boxes plus destination spot.

If not shipping big items like furniture, Greyhound is probably the cheapest option. A moving company will have a minimum amount they will charge. I looked into a freight company for some stuff, but was told they wouldn't take 'personal effects'.

let Manitoba Health know you are moving to BC. Then register in BC for coverage which is currently $136.00 per month for a family of two. Manitoba covers you for 3 months when you get there and then BCs cuts in.

located on pacific avenue has small containers that you load yourself and they will ship to bc. we used them and they were quite reasonable

I must of missed the part where they asked for help registering for health coverage in BC...

As to the question asked you could always rent a little uhaul trailer here and tow it out there, assuming your vehicle has a hitch. You can drop it off at a uhaul dealer out there when you arrive. Safe travels!

It looks like Westjet allows up to four checked bags per person. Maybe price out the cost of extra bags and over sized bags.
