Season closes Friday and with the condition of the ice I would say its effectively closed now

Sorry to say fishing doesn't end on Friday it ends on Sunday at midnight

I was at Souris on Monday, and no fish biting. Could see some pike just below the dam but they didn't have any interest in anything we put in front of them. There wasn't a lot of open water but I'm sure within the next couple days the spillway will be open and those pike should start biting.

Not that I don't want to fish the extra day, but my reading of the guide says the last day is Friday.

In the Southern Division, the general angling closure is changed from April 1 to the end of school spring break (floating date).The new general angling closure this year will be April 4, 2016.
