And Blade ya can't just move the road 1000 ft down. 1st street and highway 110 flooded over before should we close them and move them further too? Grand Valley is a Provincial highway and will remain one in the exact same spot it is now. Lots of people including people that don't live on Grand Valley road use it. Yes it is a little inconvenient at this time of year but we will all survive and it will be open again very soon. Edited by TWENTY, 2017-04-27 12:42:57" |

According to the Brandon Sun article today, it cost $322,000 total, the online version has since changed since I read it this morning but there was mention of cost sharing between the city and the province with Brandon being on the hook for $122,000. I imagine a good chunk of that was that plug though it doesn't say how much. It also said it was apparently the fourth highest flood we''ve ever had. That wouldn''t mean much except 2011 and 2014 are also in the top five meaning three of the worst floods we''ve had in this city have happened in this decade. That seems like a little bit more than a coincidence to me.
