Hey eBrandoners! Can you help us out? We are looking for tips on renting vs buying a suit for grad. Things like the best places in town for reasonable prices and I would love to know how many kids who bought suits actually wore them again.

are you looking for, I have 2 suits that my husband doesn't wear anymore.

It is a better option as the suit will be sized for the wearer and will i:nclude options like tie and shoes. Moore's or Tip Top Tailor's are suit rental outlets. Check them out. I used that option for my own grad a long time ago. Costs about $250 for the whole thing. A suit will run you about the same or more, but in the end you have to worry about staying that size to re-use the garment. A rental is gone after the night and there are no strings.

Wow! $250. I have a tuxedo with pants cummberbund and bow-tie for $150.  
wore it about 6 times, But maybe that is to dressy for a grad LOL.

For about the same $250 you can get a custom fitted suit from Bromleys with a shirt, tie and pocket hanky. Brian is a super guy, and very knowlegable with current styles and trends. Bromleys has moved to 10th Street, I think its the 300 block.  
 
I wouldn't buy a suit anywhere else.

I would second the Bromley's idea. For an event like a grad when a tux is not needed a nice fitting suit is perfect. You can get a nice navy, charcoal or even black suit and funk it up with a bright shirt and tie.  
 
Plus when you buy it, you've got it for keeps, and every young man should have at least one suit in his closet. You never know when you'll need it for a funeral or a job interview.  
 
When I graduated high school my parents. Bought me a nice suit and I wore it a couple times a year for at least 5 years (till I got too fat for it).

I realized that I could have been more clear, when I said a fitted suit I meant tailored. Brian will measure you and order the suit. When it arrives you try it on and he does whatever alterations are needed to make it fit perfectly. You will NOT get a rental that fits nearly that well unless you are very lucky.

Bromley's menswear. Brian is a great guy and buying local keeps money in the community. Price is comparable to renting and you have an opportunity to wear it again. The only difference between a tux and a suit is the satin on the market lapels and the satin stripe on the pant legs. If you never wear it again you are no worse off than renting.
