Just saw on Facebook a post that says Playtime closed its doors. The link is broken so can't find any other information. Anyone know if this is true?

I just took my grand daughter there last weekend..I also heard the rumour that they were closing.

Was there just yesterday, all seem normal. But I don't go there enough to know what normal is for that place. Doesn't mean that there wasn't a sign posting it's last day or that they are closed for the long weekend. But, earlier in the year I heard that the lease was up this summer. Who knows? I thought they did well for numbers, when it came to having customers. We'll find out soon enough.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

It does sound like this has been the case, though the owner of the local Direct Liquidation is saying they've signed a lease on the building and [i]"will be doing some huge upgrades and rebuild to get Brandon the kids play areas that it needs"[/i]

How can they have found out that is was emptied and have it rented in the same day? ...with plans to have the same type of business in there. ? So fast. Some one must have knew something was happening.

I heard that they were closing back in mid-May, but not through official channels. Kinda weird how it all went down.

That the new kids area planned on going in there is just as fabulous or better for our city's kids. It's kind of nice having an indoor play area for kids to play in during the winter and when the weather isn't agreeable.

People do all night moves for a reason - as all said it was operating fine the day before
Sign on the door is from the Landlord - looks like the rent was not paid to me and they made a quick exit during the night

I always thought the "Now Opening!" Sign on the west side was curious after being open for a few years. Oh well, businesses come and go. Hopefully it will be well utilized with a new owner and it won't be sitting empty.

But I heard the "playtime is closing" rumour months ago. I am guessing there was likely issues with the tenant and landlord over payment of rent. The landlord was likely talking to new possible tenants due to the issues. That would explain the quick ability to get it rented and even better that it will remain the same type of business. Renter likely did a midnight move so as to take the current structure/product out before landlord took it in lieu of unpaid bills.

Good luck to the new tenant! Hopefully you can capitalize on the great potential that a business like playtime was because the previous tenant definitely didn't care. There is money to be made! Can't wait to see what is coming next!!

Well I for one am sad to see playtime close. Sure there were things they could have improved on but it's Brandon...people would still complain. I hope the new owners have better luck and hopefully Brandon supports them.

Any kid place is going to have its cleanliness issues (which was always an issue anytime playtime was brought up) but both caregivers/parents and staff need to accept responsibility for that. Hopefully the new area will NOT allow food on/in the play area....because if there's no rule in place, parents just allow their kids to do what they want

Hey everyone. We just came from our second trip to the new just4kidz playland. We are really impressed. The new owner has done a wonderful job!

The OLD playland was in horrible disrepair and I cringed when we went there because it was so dirty and was almost a guarantee my kids were going to be sick within a day or two of going.

The NEW playground and area was SPOTLESS (this coming from a "neat freak) both times we have been. I chatted with the owner and he assured me that the staff sanitize the entire playstructre and toddler land daily. My husband and I were also impressed when we were there on the weekend and saw staff checking the structure with a clip board and spot cleaning. I also noticed sanitizer located through the area (out of reach for little ones, but easily accessible with parents help).

I LOVE the new layout, much more open, visibility throughout is much improved. I can actually keep an eye on both my kids at once! They got rid of that horrid arcade that used to attract my toddler with lights and sounds and it was more difficult to keep an eye on her when she ventured back there.

As a mom of a (very active/great climber) who is 2 1/2 and her 11 month old brother whom also needs close supervision. I am greatful that I can actually see my older child in the structure when in the smaller toddler land with my 11 month old. My 2 year old LOVES the bouncy castle and bouncy slide too. Lots of open area so her bother can toddle around while I am supervising her on the bouncy castle too.

I am impressed that they offer HEALTHIER options for snack like a veggie platter and fruit, white milk. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner and he plans to possibly do yogurt and other healthy options. This wins big points for this mom.

I also asked him about punch cards and was delighted to learn that they are offering a 10 pass punch card for $50 (toddler) which is a $15 savings. (I am not sure of the cost for the older child punch card as mine are both under 4.). This is a great option and we will be buying one when we go back next week. He also mentioned he would do special pricing for daycare/play groups.

I wish the new owner all the best, we are so thankful you have brought a CLEAN, SAFE place for our kids to play, especially with the cold weather not to far away.

Ps. I in no way know or am affiliated with the owners, just a mom who is thankful that the new playland is everything I had wished the old one could have been.

I feel like I might've been the last parent in town to give this place a shot, but two thumbs up after our visit today

A few thoughts....
- extra bouncy stuff is a nice addition. Glad all of the arcades are gone and to see that the space has gone to good use.
- new layout, with entrance on West side of the building, makes a lot of sense. The less steps from my car to the building in the cold of winter the better!
- impressed with cleanliness. Seems like theres a commitment to keeping it that way, with a couple of staff members roving around with a broom and a dyson during our time there
- also appreciated that there were staff constantly making the rounds to the structure/bouncy castles to keep an eye on things

We'll be back!

No free Wifi anymore

I like it a lot, the only downside is that they no longer have free public WiFi. One reason for me to go there with my kid was to get some work done online on my laptop while the kid is busy playing. I encourage the owners to reconsider this issue and allow free WiFi again for public use, this will surely make this place even more attractive.

We''ve taken our kids there a couple times and absolutely love it! Will definitely make it a regular outing for us. It''s great for these freezing winter days when it''s just too cold to play outside and everyone is a little stir crazy being cooped up inside.

Personally, I like that there''s no free wifi. I realize it''s a little more convenient for some, however, unlike a lot of places, I''ve personally noticed that parents/caregivers are actually playing with and interacting with their kids instead of just being on their phones all the time. Kids need supervision regardless of their age, so it''s a good way to "force" parents into that instead of kids running wild. Just my opinion though.

Maybe the wifi thing is an intentional business decision (don't know, but just a thought).

Then there might be a chance of seeing parents that might be half engaged with what their little ones are doing.

Saw one Mom sprawled out taking entire head to foot space on a main leather sofa texting for a long time while others may have also enjoyed sitting there while watching their children play.

Her barely walking child was very young and was just let loose. Wished I'd had a pillow and blankie to offer her. Not sure she looked up once.

Aside from that, the place is a terrific improvement from the past owners. It's very clean and pleasant and the food is pretty decent.
