Does anyone know what happened at the end of the fireworks with that huge explosion? I hope no one was hurt.

I also felt something wrong happened. The show does usually end with a super Big Bang at the end. Tonight I saw the Val of fire and smoke and things came to a halt. Hopefully everyone is safe.

Were wondering the same thing! We were far away from the actual event site, but saw the fireball so it must have been fairly big. Wonder what happened & if everyone was o.k.

I think the fireball was intentional. It looked like it was to add an element of danger. It was a controlled eveng because it only happened briefly. Im sure they are ok. Got a bitof firework dust in my eyes.funny.

Not dissappointed it being 14 min. Thought it was excellent. Saw the fireball as well. I was busy getting my telescope aimed at the next o:bject on the list for when the fireworks were done.  
 
We had roughly 360 people stop by to look through the 6 telescopes we had at the Riverbank Discovery Centre.

I noticed the fireball too, at the moment I thought it was intentially.

We were watching the show, about 100 meters from the launch site. The fire ball was near the end of the show and it came from the central launch location of which there were at least six. It was one of 4 misfires counted and the only one erupting in flame and not a cloud of smoke. The show was awesome, despite the rain of ash and debris being so close. We came home home with a baseball size torn piece of fireworks shell as a souvenir which landed at our feet. While it did look dangerous, there was no evidence of anyone having been hurt. It pains me to say but, tax dollars well spent.

My family operated the fireworks. There was no accident, it's a new firework called the Dragon's Breath.

Those flames looked pretty cool. I figured they were a part of of the show.

Wasn't seen very well from a lot of vantage points. Should have been set off from a platform at some kind of height.

JR....you've figured out it was an actual firework and no one was hurt. Instead of giving the family that put the fireworks on your two cents on how it SHOULD have went. Thank them for doing the great job they did and get on with it. Some people just have nothing better to do than sit and nit pick on eBrandon.

Kudos to the organizers and everyone involved in the fireworks display and the celebrations at the Riverbank. Best Canada Day celebrations yet!

It's not a firework, it's a special effect to the fireworks. Like said, my family does it, not me. I just sit on the sidelines and watch all their amazing work
