Looking to get my first tattoo, a small black snake symbol near my wrist. Where in your opinion is the best place to get it done?

Do your research and pick a reputable place in Wpg. Honestly never seen anything amazing come out of the Brandon shops.

Annabanana, that's a pretty bold (and rude) statement that a lot of tattoo enthusiasts around here would be pretty insulted by.  
 
There are great tattoo artists in the city. Ward Lennon (Ward's), Troy Lennon (Warlock), Lee at Blood and Iron, and lots more. Check out their websites/social media to see lots of their work and choose for yourself!

There have been lots of discussion threads on eBrandon about this topic. The bottom line is that different people have different tastes in tattoos, just like in artwork. The best thing to do, as someone who is wanting a tattoo, is to look at different artists' work. Like the studios' Facebook pages to see different pictures, or go into the studio and look at albums in person. What I think is a great tattoo might look terrible to someone else. If you want script, ask who specializes in script at a studio and look at examples of their work; if you want a flower, do the same with flowers, etc etc. I have had tattoos that I am very happy with from two different artists at Adam's (neither works there anymore), and one with TJ at Blood and Iron. It's a lot of personal preference, and finding someone whose work you like for the subject matter you are considering.

I had my tattoo down by a guy that used to work at Adam's. He gave me some good advice. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he showed me flaws in the design that would not make for an attractive tattoo. He drew something up for me and I liked it better than what I wanted originally. He said when it comes to tattoos each artist is good at certain styles that others are not so strong at. An artist may have done a great job on someone else but would not be so great at what you have in mind. Do your homework, look at the artists portfolios, and talk to them about what you want. Choose someone that looks skilled in the style you want and you should be happy

up for a drive take a look at Fuel and Kat's Tattoo shop in Weyburn SK. I had my back done by Fuel and it was by far the best experience in all my tattoos. I've had some done in Victoria, Brandon and now Weyburn and will never enter another tattoo shop that Kat & Fuel don't own or work at. They are a husband and wife team and both have their own talents. Kat does amazing watercolor tattoos & line work (my wife's shoulder is gorgeous and she will be going back for more watercolors by Kat). My back piece was a very important piece and part of my life and Fuel took his time to design it, add his flare to it and during the tattoo he treats you like a friend/family member. You will never be just a customer with them, you become a family member as soon as you walk in the front door.  
They are tough to get into sometimes as they are booked solid, but check out their facebook page and look at their work. The line work, coloring, designs are 1 of a kind. I'm headed back there for a complete cover up of a piece that was done in Brandon that will now be the 5th time to try to make the original look right. The great artist I had at Adams did a great job trying to fix the previous mistake, but he's since moved on and now Fuel will fix my arm....I am 110% confident he will make it right cause his heart is poured into every piece! If you have kids, they actually have a room in the back of the shop that your children can go in and watch tv. This shop is not your typical shop, it will change your life and opinion of tattoo shops!

Whoever said nothing good out of Brandon is not smart at all, go to blood and iron, amazing artists, there is a few other shops that good work also, but my opinion is the best guys around are at blood and iron.
