I just wondered if anyone knows the status of the 34th and willowdale traffic circle.  
 
When ever we drive through the Richmond circle, we look towards the willowdale circle and have not seen anyone working on it for weeks now. I am not saying they aren't working on it, all am I saying is we haven't noticed anyone or any work being done on it for weeks.  
 
Are they still working on it and when is it going to be done? Anyone know?

Must be the same as Victoria East, no one has been working for a couple of weeks now. "Start a project and never finish it"

Why work on both 34th and willowdale And 34th and vic at the same time? I get the construction season is short but I personally think it's a royal pain. Just my two cents...lol

Same with thy spot on both north and south lanes on 26th just south of park ave! They tore it up and than Just filled it with gravel!

Yep, it seems like it's taking quite awhile, but I live pretty close and walk over from time to time to take a look. There is always new progress when I look, so they must be working there regularly. It looks like most of the concrete work is done now. I'm sure it will be ready before the end of September.

What does it look like is left to do, just the pavement?

It looks like it is built very much like the circle on Richmond, and that one has the actual circle done in pavement, and seems to be wearing pretty well. Is there a specific reason they're going to use concrete this time?

It's what was said in the announcement about the project.

The traffic circle is a city project, Victoria & 34th is a Highways project.

Sorry, slightly off-topic but my son keeps asking me this question and I've never really figured out the definitive answer.  
 
I always thought pavement and concrete were interchangeable terms, but clearly they're not. When people say pavement, do they mean asphalt? I understand what concrete is, but I'm unclear what pavement is.

Pavement and asphalt are the same. Generally the black tar smelling hot bitumen they lay down. Concrete is grey like the sidewalks

ok thanks for clarifying that. I found when I Googled it that it assumed I knew what it was made out of. Clearly I didn't!

Not sure when it opened, but I drove through it today and it's open.

I drove through it yesterday at about noon. It may have been open before that though.

Travel in the states very much and you'll find that they are now using concrete to pave their highways vs traditional asphalt. It costs more to apply, but in the end it is more economical because it wears so much longer. The work being done now/in the past years around Dickinson ND is testament to concrete's superiority as a paving material.

yup.. concrete is much better and looks a lot better.  
 
9th st circle is showing it's wear as well. Hopefully when time comes they will do the same.
